So I cut a frag of a pink table that's I've had for about a year now and put it on my frag rack. I went back to school for a month and cam home tonight to find a surprise.

The frag

My one month old frag developed a green base that I have never seen on the mother colony. This picture doesn't do it justice but I was pleasantly surprised.

Just wanted to share my excitement!

That is pretty awesome!

Nature, gotta love it!

Wow that's pretty cool! I've had stuff morph before too... always interesting to see.

Classic RP transformation, if it's indeed an RP placing it in lower lighting will develop more and darken the green.. place it higher and you'll get the pretty mamma colony maroon. Thank whoever watches your tank while you're gone .. I get nervous leaving mine alone for a week lol.

Who takes care of your tank while your away for that long?!
I've got it running so that it practically takes care of itself. That being said I have to thank my parents who feed the fish, top off my ato and clean the skimmer.

Funnily enough I actually placed the frag higher in the tank when it developed the green which I thought was the opposite of the Red Planet.

Your parents clean your skimmer?! What a life lol. My parents would tell me to pound sand, so to speak [emoji6]

You are correct. Red Planet is all pink/red/white in high lights, green/red in low light ime. You triggered some interesting fluorescence possibly, or, the new growth is just green. A lot of acros do that.

Well regardless I'm excited to see how long the green sticks around for!
