I installed a new fragging station recently, its a piece of Maple Work bench (15X30) with a hinged wing I got from our local Ikea returns dept. for $.29! The wing is made from corrugated cardboard sandwiched between two pieces of laminated hardboard. Its very light. I cut a hole in that wing and dropped in a big rubbermaid (tupperwear) bowl. Its a 1.5g capacity bowl with a lid, that I use as a dry sink, or when fragging I fill it with some tank water, and store the colonies/frags in it while their waiting to get fragged. The wing folds down when it is in the way. Most of the time its up. I just use a piece of 3/4" PVC to prop it up.. The workbench is great when you need a solid surface to chisel rocks apart.
I also picked up a magnifier lamp. this is amazing when trying to frag off tiny polyps or picking algae off a frag.

Matt that is really cool. I wish I had a fragging station. I work out of a tacklebox on the basement floor.

Thanx!

My wife has pretty much given me the basement to do as I want :D
It is very handy! now if I only had more frags...:)

Me liky me liky....They put two drains in the floor , gfi breakers, all gfi plugs, and a sink and xtra h2o outlet in my fish room in the new home we are building. just cost 2500 more for the upgrade. I ain't out in the garage or basement either. I can see my 4'x4' cube coming!

that is really cool! mind if i copy? :D

my tank room is getting crowded, so i might have to do the full-on IKEA mentatlity, heh!

speakin of IKEA... they have these little 9W T5 lights that you can daisy chain for like $13 (i think) if you keep kicking that big light under your desk. i know i would, ha!

most of my desks/stands are outfitted w/ 'em. in fact, i need more, lol!

oh, meant to add: one of my buddies who is local always teases me about all the fragging tools i use.

all this for "sewer polyps"? (as he puts it, heh!)

of course, he's an sps collector and usually frags w/ his fingers, heh! (i'm exagerating a little ;) )

but even yet, he can't help but have some cat eyes and tubs blues in his tank... ha!

lol! I tell ya, that returns/damaged section at Ikea is awesome. SOOO cheap.
I am probly gonna add some pegboard over the bench to hang my fragging tools on.
