My Frag Tank

How Often Do You Feed Your System?
Also What Kind Of Protein Skimmer Do You Have On That Bad boy?

Thanks guys! A lot of my corals are encrusting on the egg crate now. I still don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

How Often Do You Feed Your System?
Also What Kind Of Protein Skimmer Do You Have On That Bad boy?

I try to feed my system 1x per day but sometimes I skip a day. I'm feeding a combination of PE Mysis and some homemade frozen food (really oily). This skimmer is a Super Reef Octopus XP 3000 Internal Skimmer. This does all of my nutrient removal since I don't run GFO or Carbon. Here is a breakdown on the equipment and parameters.

Here is a list of the equipment that I use on my reef tanks and the light schedule.

Lighting: 250w DE HQI MH Phoenix 14k. Sunrise 12:00 Noon and Sunset 8:00 pm
Flow: 4 X Hydor Koralia Pumps
Return: Eheim 1262
Skimmer: Super Reef Octopus XP 3000 Internal Skimmer
Controller: Neptune System Apex
Calcium and Alkalinity Source: Kalk Reactor with Eheim 1250 mixing pump & tom aquatics aquadoser.
Addition Supplements: 2 X BRS 2 Part dosing pump
Currently only dosing alk for 10 minutes every hour
Total Water Volume: 300g
Food: PE Mysis and Homemade blend 1 X per day

Temperature Range: 78-79 Degrees
pH: Some days 7.8, some days 8.3 (Monitored by Apex)
Ca: Last time I checked it was over 500
dKH: Usually around 8.0
Magnesium: Hardly ever check this but last time I did, it was off the charts.
Salinity: 35 ppt

Yo mang, lets see some pics of the new frags! I'd like to see how they are growing in someone else's tank.

The frags are looking great. I am loving the tort that you sent me. That thing is super sweet. Is that the ORA Ice Tort? Hopefully I can take some shots of it tomorrow. That was the only row that I didn't get to before my battery died. How are the frags doing that I sent you?

Here are some updated pictures that I took this morning.

I actually bought the frag from Tropical Reef Corals here local and they said it was just an ORA Blue tort. It'll take off really quick. They are looking good! The Sarmentosa is looking great. I'm glad they are looking good. I may have some chalice frags soon...if I can get the nerve to attempt my first chalice fragging.

Thanks! No, I wish I took some pictures but it was a very easy process. The frame is made out of 1/2 inch pvc. Instead of just having pvc "legs" like a lot of frag tanks have, I made the frame as steps using a bunch of 90 degree elbows and T pieces of pvc. This allows me to have full support from end to end of the eggcrate so I can slam it full of stony corals.

You have some beautiful Stylophora ( I think or maybe Pocillopora?)
Seems the system is getting real crowded. Do you raise these coral for sale?

TY. The green sps coral in the middle is actually an ORA Green Tip Orange Birdsnest (Seriatopora). I use to raise the coral for sale but those days are long gone. I have been so busy lately that now I just raise the coral. Now, all that I am able to do is to snip some frags to make some room.
