For the last week my frogspawn has been releasing small tips. Is this normal? At first I thought my clowns were biting it but they stay away from it. It is getting medium flow right now. I need some help/advice!!
Thanks,
Jason

Do you have any peppermint shrimp in your tank? Is the frogspawn near a rock, or coral that it could snag on? Is it happening all over the frogspawn or just in one area?

Thanks for the reply. No shrimp. The frogspawn is near rock but the tenticles are all above. It seems like just one of the heads is doing it.

Both of my frogspawns have always done that. I've never associated it with anything in particular. They just pop a few off every once in awhile. I usually dig them out so they don't land on other corals.

Will those pieces regenerate? Or is it only possible if they drop a head? They pieces stay inflated for quite some time.

Will peppermint shrimp eat frogspawn or torch corals. I ask because I have a friend that just lost both of his torches and it seemed odd. He has 3 or 4 peppermint shrimp in his tank.

My peppermints have never bothered anything but tube worms, feather dusters, and the like. I've never read anything about them eating euphyllia either.

Mine did that and then it migrated into heads dying. I found out my salinity was lower than what they wnted 1.023-24. Now it is between 1.025 and 1.027, i thought 27 was too high but everyone seems very happy at that level compared to 25 and 26.

Well I expect that the worst is happening. I woke up this morning and my frogspawn is showing skeleton on six out if nine heads. Should I pull it out of the tank? It looked great last night and now this:(.
Ph 8.3
kh 180
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
calcium 420
salinity 1.040

The only thing that I have done differently in the last couple of days is I got a piece of beautiful coralline covered Fiji rock to seed my tank with and I scraped some of the thicker corraline into the water column. Could some of the coralline dust have maybe melted the heads? There were no visible chunks on the frogspawn but what I scraped off was pretty fine.
