It would not be uncommon for some corals to take longer to adjust to the change in PAR back to “normal” PAR.

If waters good, no action is required IMM.
Thank you well new update today it looks like algae is growing on the skeleton and it’s receded more I moved him to the sand because I’ve had this problem with a coral before and it helped it reacclimate to new lighting

I just tested my water using API tests so not most reliable but could point to issues I’m gonna do a water change tomorrow as I have no water made right now.

Ph: 8.4
Ammonia:0
KH:10
Calcium: 480
Salinity: 1.026
Nitrate: 20
Phosphate: 2

Hope that phosphate is a typo!
That value would be a big problem.
Sure you don’t mean .2ppm or 0.02ppm?

My api test shows 2 ppm but I don’t think that could be the case but I’m gonna do a big water change tomorrow I may test phosphate again tonight to be sure but my api kit at least for phosphate doesn’t ever seem right. I feel like I’d be having algae issues or issues with other corals rn. I may get some phosgaurd tomorrow and do water change

Does that sound like a good thing to do?

I’d definitely get the parameters checked at a local fish store with digital testing to double check the phosphate. I also would use the phosguard if so immediately. A water change as well as an iodine dip can’t hurt either.

Ok thank you for the idea will be getting Phosguard today and doing a water change. I might try to pick up an iodine dip.

Most test kits other than API give reasonable estimates.

Without “knowing” your water chemistry (API tests) the future of your system is at risk.

In the case of phosphate, the colour change is so small I can’t tell the difference by eye, so I trust the Hanna coloumeter only for this one test.

While other test cost more, a good set of salifert, aqua forest and nyos kits go a huge way in creating the dream tank.

Worth every penny.

Thank you for the advice I will probably be investing in better test kits in the future. I moved the frogspawn to the sand and he’s still not doing any better I put in some phosguard and did a 20% water change. I also got my skimmer running again I guess it stopped skimming the pump was clogged.
