I just got a Carberryi Anthias 2 days ago. Was a little leary since I've heard so much about Anthias being difficult to feed, etc. But they are so beautiful I just had to have one! Well, this fish eats more than all the others combined in the tank!

It is so funny. It LOVES to be cleaned by my skunk shrimp. The shrimp likes to hang upside down from the overhang so the fish has decided it will too! It goes up to the shrimp, turns upside down and wriggles with pleasure when the shrimp starts cleaning. However, it likes it so much the shrimp is like...Really?! Again?
The poor shrimp will just stop moving so the fish will leave it alone (which lasts all of a couple of minutes). The shrimp is probably like...there's nothing left to clean!! My arms are tired! lol The fish needs to discover the Peppermint Shrimp for double the pleasure.

So far so good with my Anthias experience.

That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing! :)

Update - My Anthias has decided if the shrimp won't clean it he/she will just hang out upside down with the shrimp for hours at a time! Note the Yellow Assessor underneath who is NOT swimming upside down!

The good news is that you have the whole month of October to get a great picture of your Anthias to enter into the October Photo of the Month (POTM) contest!!!

This fish just gets funnier and funnier. I bought a 139 gal that was being taken down in a Doctors office. Moved the inverts over to it. All fish that were in the 139 are in QT right now and doing great. Once I moved the inverts over to the new tank my Anthias lost it's best friend the skunk shrimp. It no longer hangs upside down without its friend.

Now the silly thing mimics my Tail Spot Blenny and hides in a hole poking its head out!

Crazy fish.

Lastest on the Anthias!

My inverts have been moved to the 139g for 2 weeks. Today I added the Anthias to the tank.

What happened?

It took maybe 5 minutes before the Anthias was bugging the heck out of the Skunk Shrimp again! But, the shrimp seemed happy about it :)
