My Goby is driving me nuts!!

My watchman gobie is a gem... his Pistol Shrimp is a aquascapeing maniac. Stirs things up and has created a mountain of substrate right in the middle of my tank. I’m unsure what the rock is even sitting on anymore.

Dude, a tiger doesn't change his stripes. This pair has been digging since day one and it's been 3 weeks. At least I know the sand is getting turned over. I knew that going in so I put the rocks in first and placed the sand in after.

I have a diamond watchman and he has tunnels and he’s everywhere in the tank tearing it up
He’s also the biggest fish in the tank but he’s there for a reason
He cleans the sandbed doesn’t bother any corals though

Those types of gobies are looking for food in the sand and will never change if you don't like what it does then I d suggest trading it in against a watchman type goby or I have a sunset orange spot goby looks similar to yours but orange spots and a lot more spots than yours and it just sits on air beside a rock or in my yellow watchman gobies hole with him.

You can solve this problem by going with a slightly courser sand that way when he scoops some sand up and dumps it out, it falls right back down into the sand instead of the current taking it and blowing everywhere. Thats what i did and it worked like a charm. Needs to be small enough to pass through its gills though. But no matter what you will still have some sand blowing around but not nearly as much.

I was Fuji pink I think it 1.5 micron and it doesn’t blow everywhere

I have a diamond back goby and when I first put him in he made my water a mess but after time that this dust in the sand will be gone and at same time he will calm down.
