Here’s my complete stock list and order of placement per Elliot at Marine Collectors:

Batch 1:
2 - bonded black storm clowns (already in tank)

Batch 2:
Orange-Shoulder Tang - already transitioned in color but not large yet.
Chocolate Tang - Acanthurus Pyroferus. Fully transitioned but still small

Batch 3:
1 Diamond Goby
3 Helrichi Fire Fish

Batch 4:
· Melanarus (male)
· Rosy Scale/Red Velvet (male)
· Blue-Star Leopard (male)
· Blue-side/Cirrhilabrus Cyanopleura (male)

Batch 5:
Square Anthias (Pair)
1 Sunburst Anthias

Batch 6:
Imperator Angelfish, Juvenile

Some will have to go to new home someday as they get too big, but my LFS will take them so I’m happy to enjoy while I can.

Appreciate you asking some of the veterans though. I need all the help I can get. I’ve tried to be really contentious on stocking plan and aggression; even though it’s driving me batty not to get some of these utilitarian fish in sooner to help the CUC! lol.

Also, I asked Elliot for tangs that normally take quite awhile to transition into adult colors while they’re still relatively small. So the “delay” in stocking was partially due to my strict parameters. He of course found both tangs and they’re finishing up his QT and Conditioning protocols.

Really looking forward to seeing these wonderful fish in my lil reef!

Batch 4, swap the melanurus for another species of Halichoeres. If you want to add wrasses in the future, especially sand sleeping wrasses, this guy will make it a pain.
I’d recommend something from the Biochoeres complex, so;
Halichoeres biocellatus
Halichoeres chrysus
Halichoeres leucoxanthus
Halichoeres melasmapomus
Halichoeres cosmetus
Halichoeres iridis

You can also mix these with other Halichoeres without an issue as they are the most peaceful in the genus.

And batch 3, don’t add more than one of any Firefish species. The helfrichi (currently known as lavandula) is not communal and will possibly end up with two or all of those specimens dying. With all Gobies, have 1 of each genus unless naturally that genus as a whole is found in communal groups - i.e. Gobiodon.

I have a Leucoxanthus, a lot of Chrysus around - both are bright yellow and gorgeous!

What's the budget? What's the purpose? Pest control or pretty fish? I like Halichoeres Wrasses. I have a Melanurus and a Leucoxanthus but I would have loved a Chrysus. My Garnoti was probably my favorite just because she was always out and swam up to greet me whereas my Melanurus hides from me. Leucoxanthus is fast, curious, but is still sorta wary when I'm near the tank.

Garnoti (Neon) - she jumped.

Leucoxanthus - similar to the Chrysus but only half yellow, half white/pink

No pics of the Melanurus, he doesn't like me.

If I have the opportunity, I'd like to add a Red Lined Halichoeres and/or a Dusky Wrasse down the road but it's unlikely.

Flashers and Fairies are cool fish but I haven't had any luck with them personally.

You answered! The Garnotti! Only you could have answered as it didn’t matter why you loved her!

Budget for me, $150 - $199 but that’s for Elliot’s fully QT and conditioned fish.

My one and only favoruite wrasse is hard… but it’s probably a Paracheilinus attenuatus

The reason I’m asking is you’ve had a lot of time and experience to see/know about so many different ones and I think it’s cool to hear why a particular one is your favorite.

I had a pair of iridis at one point which were gorgeous. The male truly showed some stunning colours with the female. I’m now unfortunately back down with just a female, but would love a pair again.
There is 9 photos, 3 of each fish
H. iridis (First 2 are female, second was my 4.5” male).

P. attenuatus (2 photos were taken whilst he was doing his daily display).

C. naokoae (I’ve not owned this species for a few months but it’s another I look at in my LFS and question if I go for it again).

So yep, I’ve owned an attenuatus! And boy is he stunning. He is the one wrasse I’ve had that will display every day and at no particular time, he often displays 2-3 times within just one day. It’s a true light show when he gets the Finifenmaa, Flavidorsalis, Aquamarinus and Carpenteri to show off.

Hands down, Iridis needs to be on your list! Those photos show 0 justice for them. The male had some stunning greens running through his tail and then a band of red just after. His dorsal also had bands of green and red with some yellow.
