So ive had these chromies with my two mocha clown fish for about a week now and i just noticed that one of the chromies has a patch of scales missing. I also noticed that the chromies are a bit spotty not there slick blue green chrome look. Any ideas on how this happened. Could they be losing scales from being sick maybe he hit up against the live rock or could the clowns be biting him. I have seen any aggression?

Can you quarantine them while you figure it out? Have you seen the clownfish go agro on the chromis?

I don't have a quarantine tank. And no I havnt seen any aggression from any of the fish towards each other. I was also looking up dieses and I'm seeing no signs just the one patch of missing scales.

If they're rubbing against the rock they might have ick. Do you see any white spots on them?

No white spots or anything like that I'm hoping he might have bumped somthing playing. I have 3 of them and they tend to like to place themselves in small spaces in the rocks and hang out by the power head

Are they acting normal otherwise?

Yeah I've only noticed it today but yea they seem normal.

I also started with 3 chromis fish, and now I'm down to two. Similar scenario to yours. Never really saw aggression from my clownfish towards the chromis, until the lights went off or the chromis got near the nem. Keep an eye out for aggressive behavior.
