My gsp's aren't growing. Is this even possible?

I've had gsp's in my tank for three months and they've hardly grown at all. They look healthy and are open all the time. They're at the top of my tank where they'll grow onto the back wall. I'm expecting that many of you will think I'm crazy for wanting them to grow faster, but after all I've read about how fast they grow, I'm just curious about why mine don't. Any thoughts?

I'm curious too, mine haven't really grown either and it's been about the same amount of time as yours???

I've had mine for 6 months and have the same problem (or blessing). Everything else in my tank (sps, lps, zoas/palys) is growing great too. Kinda weird.

+1 I have mine on some letters I cut out of lr, I believe it has to do with high light a lot of flow, and growing vertically, I've noticed encrusting things don't do that part well. Just my observations though. I actually have a section that doesn't even open anymore but still has flesh lol

nope,love my gsp.I've notice that if you give it a lot of flow,they tend to grow faster.

Mine are being directly blasted by my wp25.they don't spread just stay on the same rock they came on.

I feed them weekly with oyster feast.

I was having some of mine die off a bit because the flow was too high. The die off caused red slime which killed off more. I moved the rock lower and out of direct flow. Each polyp grows into a much taller stalk and as a whole it's spreading well, probably too well. It does seem like it doesn't want to grow on vertical parts of the rock as well.

Mine took several weeks to really establish but once it did it grew fairly quickly. In the year that I have had them it has gone from a 1-1/2" frag plug to around a 15" radius circle if I were to flatten it all out. It was placed high in the tank on top of a rock and is growing it's way down. Lighting is by Evergrow Nova A6's. Flow is a big part as well I relocated it to a place in from of my MP40 (about 4ft away) and I did experience some of it closed up/dying off. I redirected the flow with another rock and it came right back. I have also fragged it several times over the past 6 months. Usually within two week you can not tell it's been cut. I get very little growth from my gsp.. but my brown star polyps spread like weeds.. gonna start peeling that ugly crap out one of these days..

I have GSP in two tanks and then difference in the two is night and day. In my 30 gal tank with little flow and T5 light they get very little polyp exstension and don't spread but then in my 120 they with LED lights and lots of turblant flow they grow very quickly and the polpy size is about an inch. I love the way the flow with the current back in forth.
