My Hammer looks terrible BUT...

My Hammer looks terrible but what is this? There are few of those:

are you sure that this is still a hammer? it looks just fully dead to me. I would just pull it out and throw it away. all types of pests are growing on it from apitasia, algae and what looks like vermetid snails.

It's a 4 head hammer. One polyp is dead and two do not look good but the one you see a part of is healthy. Aphasia started to multiply in my tank I am waiting for a CBB to arrive and take care of it

Ok I have a few questions.
Parameters, can I get a wider view of the entire hammer, is it a wall or branching hammer and why do you have chateau growing in your display tank? It's a snail. That hammer will never open up due to pests.

I guess pieces of Ceato drifted when I replaced the glass wool. Parameters at very stable 1.0264, KH 9 +/- 0.2 NO3 5+/- 1 PO4 0 -0.03 Ca, Mg around 420, 1400. Just installed Reef factory x3 dosing AF 123 bioplastic reactor and mixed GFO\GAC reactor on very low flow

Glass wool? What kind of filtration do you run?

Looks terrible? I think it's dead.

I see vermatid snails, aiptasia, stray chaeto, and sponges.

Can we get a little wider shot of the entire coral?

There is Toastool in front of it making it hard to take pics. There is one head that looks ok. I also thought it was dying but it has been like this for over a month. Also eophylias on the right side are fine.

I think what people are getting at is it seems like there a much larger issues going on than the little spirorbid or little hard to ID bump that you want an identified. With a bit more info, we can perhaps identify the real culprit.

Here are some more pics. It is not completely dead. I am trying to convey that IMO it is getting better and recovering. I do have a lot of vermatid snails and aptasia is starting to gain. However, I asked about these little things that seem to have the same color and texture of the hammer. Also as I said other corals are looking good

Looks like a wall hammer. I believe your going to lose the remaining head but hopefully I am wrong. They decline in succession. With a frogspawn that close the threat of it turning to bjd would be to great for me. It's a 70$ coral that has to much going on vs the hundreds in coral around it. They are very touchy. The very snails alone will cause it not to open. It's covered in pest and will never Inflate fully. I think it may starve and become stressed and diseased before it fully recovers. The slug you'll be adding will only irritate it more and is NOT an immediate fix. It will take weeks to cure the issue and the snails will remain unless manually removed. My advice is when the slug comes, Toss it and the hammer in a floating breeder box so the snail has to clean it first. Pick off as many pest as possible and leave it in the box over night during lights out so it stays retracted while the slug works. In the morning put it back. If it survives great!

I will update. As i said it seem to look better as my tank is now very stable parameters wize.
