My HG torch is doing insanity right now

Technically this is one head. It’s pinching in many spots and is forming at least 6 heads but none are quite independent yet.

Looks like it’s trying to retract for night but I never noticed how crazy the flesh band is in between the heads

I have an indo gold that is splitting into 4 in a similar way. You’ve inspired me to try to capture a shot when my lights are on. Pretty cool pictures!

I turned lights off and it started to close then after a little while I turned them back on and caught this

Very hard to say but I would guess around the 1 year mark. Definitely noticed in April but it started before that

I don’t do water changes. I don’t run a skimmer. I dont use mechanical filtration like socks or sponges. I don’t have any carbon reactors or vodka dosing or bio pellets. I don’t test often.

My only physical work I do is empty the algae scrubber every 7-10 days, add fw top off + all for reef once a week; clean glass every 3-5 days

Thanks! Goal for this system was minimum maintenance and have full natural filtration through controlled algae growth + cryptic zone with sponge and pods, worms, micro stars, micro dusters, sand and live rock

I'm running a similar scenario right now with a nano tank. I hope my results look like yours.

That thing is bananas, seriously it looks like banana's. Now I'm hungry for one of those and a banana . Lol.

Around month 8 it really started to take off in growth. Easily my favorite coral in the tank. Get yourself a banana grail. I waited years and years to get one and finally I bit the bullet and was like I have always wanted one, the price has come down to 300-350 a head. I’m just gonna buy it for myself. And wow. From the day it arrived it’s been vivid and stunning and it’s only gotten better. It literally makes me happy every time I look at the tank. Invest in yourself and your mental well being. You are worth it
