My IM Nuvo 20g Build

Very nice!! I got the peninsula version of this tank! I’m excited to see how this tank turns out! IMO, nothing beats a green toadstool, zoa garden, and a couple hammers!

A little update....the JBJ ATO and Inkbird controller have been a game changer. Temp and Salinity have been super stable! Still early but both are working perfectly.

I got the Hanna pH and Alk test kits. Here are my current parameters:

Temp: 78.0
Salinity: 35 ppt
pH: 7.9
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10
Alkalinity: 127 ppm

I’m guessing I need to up the alk and pH....but not really sure if it’ll be necessary with the easier to care for soft corals.

Would love some feedback on those levels.

Another tank update:

New equipment:
InTank Fuge
IM ChaetoMax
Hanna Phosphate and Ca tester

Last parameters taken before a 20% WC:
Temp: 77.8
Salinity: 35 ppt
pH: 8.3
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: <5 ppm
Alkalinity: 124 ppm
Phosphate: 0.04 ppm
Calcium: 394 ppm

Changed the scape a bit. The arch was just too tall and a wasted space in the middle of the tank where I’d be unable to put any corals. The new setup should allow plenty of room for coral growth.

Now that is a stunner scape! And it looks a whole lot easier to place corals onto :)

Thanks...my plan is to put hammers and frogspawns on the left and torches on the right.

Thinking of either adding a Nero 3 or finding a used MP10 and putting some RFG nozzles on the outlet to mix up the flow.

Water Test/Change day is here....since I have about 15g of water in this tank I’ll be doing weekly 20% (3g) water changes. Below is a pic of my tanks parameters pre-WC. I need to get a more precise Nitrate tester because from what I can see it looks like 0ppm on the API tester.

Another week and another water change. Going to start adding some more Euphyllias soon. Also want to add a Watchman Goby and pistol shrimp.

i have the RFG’s on my nuvo 20 and happy with them.

what controller are you using to give you all the specs below, apex?
I don’t have a controller but I think I need one soon for my bigger tank.

I just got my RFG nozzles put on today.

I don’t have a controller...I just log my test results in the Pocket Marine app.

oh I see.

I just got my Tunze 9001 DC skimmer in today and it doesn’t fit. It sits to tall.
milk need to modify something, either move the divider between skimmer and return pump (resilicone) or remove first chamber divider and hopefully press the Tunze up to the diy/mod IM filter socks so the filter floss catches any detritus. I just don’t like having slow moving water in that corner of removed.
