My Innovative Marine SR60 upgrade

All very nice are the Mandarins fussy eaters I don’t know never kept them. Have you seeded your tank with copepods. I seeded a nano My fish were hunting during the day for them . Also not much green in the tank or rocks
I seeded my 30 nano for several months and then bought extra after I had the mandarins in it. Had a pair lost the male, just stopped eating , female came over to the new tank, the 60 but wasn’t the same after. She lasted several months then one night after coming home found her mostly dead at the surface. This time I waited it out and I’m doing monthly adds of pods/rotifers and phyto from Dinkins. I had noticed pods had started grow well in any case when using magnifying glass. Hopefully this time will work out better. Plus I’ve added new live rock 2 soon to be 4 times for more biodiversity.

Be very careful with the neoguinaicus.

Well I have say I’m less impressed with the AquaSD delivery daily. The cotton candy torch seems to have lost one of the two heads amd the other is still alive but refusing to extend. The Lobo looked good at first but is now losing flesh particularly on one side. So far the others are ok, except for that Milli that died the first day. I’ ll give them another chance and chalk it up to delivery shenanigans this time.

On a positive note. The rest of the tank looks really good and recovered from the redecorating shenanigans that I and the pencil urchin put it thru. Hang in there tank one more small set of rock to go! Getting a small nano size delivery from Tampa Bay Saltwater. Main reason is I’m looking for as much biodiversity as I can.

Call me crazy but I did a small order during Tidal Gardens sale yesterday. Yes I did buy one small Goni cough cough. The others were a green Pavona , purple Pavona and two Montis that I’m goin to use to on the top of the rocks in the the middle area which would normally be kinda a unseen area.

That sunburst micro may not be a goniopora, but the ones that start with a B, I forget the name currently. They look like goniopora but stay very small. Goniopora also like to sting them lol. Once I remember the name of the other type I'll post it, unless someone else does first :)

I thinks it’s a Bernardpora. It’s getting a spot I’ve already picked out that’s away from both the Alves and Gonis.

Here’s the glamour? shots. Looking really good overall. Glad I was able to get the Amazeballs at $199 . I love it but definitely overpriced normally by my opinion.

These are at one of my local LFS. I've looked at them hard the last few times. Little pricey, but less than the care bears.

Very tempting though! It's on a 2" plug for size

Did quick Goni pack google search. Found something that might interest you. Personally if you don’t mind eBay it might be worth it.

Well I’m pretty darn happy. Just doing my one of my periodic check ins on the reef and saw happy SPSother than Stylos and Pocis. Plus another photo bomb of other things s well. I’ll keep saying it 75% has to be to getting rid of tap water.

Cause it’s a jumper or because of the yellow coris going in also?
No because they are super tricky to care for as they almost always sold way too skinny and more often than not have internal parasites even after strong qt. How good is your pod population?

Pretty good at the moment. I already had. Pretty robust population based on looking thru magnifying lens. And just added 2 16 oz. Snacklebox plus phyto bottles from Dinkins. Have a monthly delivery set up for now. The Snacklebox is a mix of copepods and rotifers. I’m tempted to get some amphipods from Algaebarn or someplace similar though.
And Darn there was one at PetCo that was in awesome shape. I went with the now MIA Mel wrasse.

Just in case I hit up RUSalty.com for a couple things. Ones for the display and the other to restart the refugium
