My light I’ve had 6 years broke ...I called and now they said they stopped making that and now the new one is a360x....now I need a new light but should I change the brand? Some people say they don’t like kessil lights I’ve used it for 6 years was never able to keep aneonme or sps with it but lps did great ....should I look into a new led light Bc these cost 450 bucks so I was jw if anyone has used them and what do they think of the results ?! Good morning y’all n ty

And the light works for now but when I try to go to high intensity it turns off Bc it gets hot ....

Well if its broke and they don't have parts for it then either need buy one second and and salvage the part if still working or buy another light.
What I do is look the reviews on anything I buy.
Never had a Kessil so idk sorry but I'm sure lots do and can give you some feedback of the new Kessil light and if can grow all corals/ anemones.
Good luck

Ty ....just looking to see if people think I should stick with kessil or change the brand

I had sps thrive under 160’s, so I wouldn’t necessarily blame the light for not being able to keep certain animals (not saying you are blaming the light), lighting is only one aspect. I love Kessil’s and have been an avid user for 7 years now. That said, expecting a single point source light to fill that footprint is a big ask. I like the new Reef Brite/Kessil hybrid option, makes for a nice combo and would cover your tank nicely, but like most things these days, it’s not going to be cheap. Check out the used section, there’s always someone selling lights and it’sa good way to save a little money.
The big question is, what are your goals with this tank? Mixed reef, heavy sps, LPS?
