I'm not sure if this is where I should post this. I bought this light when I set up my tank 4 months ago and was wondering if I can keep hard corals with it. I have 2 on my 75 gallon tank. I have a hammer coral a leather mushroom and GSP on a rock by itself. They seem fine. But my red cap (2nd one) is starting to turn white. My calcium is high(over 550 and waiting for it to come down) nitrate 10, phosphate 0, KH 7 mag. 1350.
Here's what I have.

Reef Edge LED Light Fixture Available in 36" & 48" Sizes
Reef Edge LED Complement:
36 inch Reef Edge LED’s: (21) 9K White, (52) Blue 454nm, (4) Blue 440nm, (3) Violet 420nm, 3) Violet 400nm, (4) Red
48 inch Reef Edge LED’s: (27) 9K White, (69) Blue 454nm, (6) Blue 440nm, (3) Violet 420nm, 3) Violet 400nm, (6) Red

You could probably keep soft corals alive with that.. and thats about it. Some lps may be ok if higher up on the rock work. If your wanting to dive in more to reefing I would look into better lighting

That would be great. If I could get 1 light that could take care of my rectangler 75 gallon tank that would be great! I prefer LED. I don't want to have to worry about switching out bulbs.
I have my montipora slightly above the middle of the tank. Should I be able to keep it alive with this light?

If I was you, I'd invest 250$ and get two viparspectra or marsaqua black boxes. They WILL grow ANYTHING you need

True two viparspectra's will do the job can find them for 200 for both. If you wish to step it up some then Reefbreeders photon 32 V2+ is a good light

I use two 165 watt Visparspectra on 65g (4’ long)

Thank you so much for recommending something affordable and a good product. I have two of them in my cart on Amazon. I'm just thinking of a way to mount them. I have a canopy over my tank. I don't like sitting lower than the tank and looking at lights or having chains from my ceiling. Maybe drilling a few holes in my canopy and hooking them to it. Not sure yet.

Absolutely! Any Time! Glad I could help! Drilling holes may work. Maybe post a picture of your canopy so more can help!

Ok, I have ordered the 165 Visparspectra. I figured I would cut a place in the canopy and put a shower curtain rod in there to hang the lights.
But question, what power should I start it at
I was thinking the same thing!!

I would start low and slowly ramp up.

Ok, I got 2 165w viparspectra lights today. I know someone said start them at a low setting. But at what percent? The instructions say 5 (guessing that 50 percent?)

I would start with 50% blue and 15-25% white.
I would increase 5% each two weeks until I get say 80%-100% of blue.
The white channel can run between 10%-50% depending on how “blue” you want.

I run 100% blue and 50% white for three years now
