My Miracles 150g

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sold on the 30" depth. I like the idea of the extra swimming space that it will provide and still be able to put some nice colonies.

Yeah there is alot of room for swimming, corals and growth with 30". The extra 6" from a 24" tank doesn't seem like it'd make a huge difference 24" is definitely nice but man it is crazy how much more room there really is and the visual difference in person is just amazing! What are the other dimensions your looking at??

I'm looking at 40" long to a max of 48" and a height of max 24, but really considering 20". I'm pretty set on a "rimless" but with a full eurobrace up top. I'm waiting on the structural plans from my condo association to know if my floor can support the weight and then I'll narrow it down. Hoping to do a peninsula style. When it all comes to fruition I'll start a build thread.

Your photos are stunning. The corals look very happy. I'm looking forward to seeing the growth in your tank over the coming months. Do you have a fish and coral "wish list"?

Sweet, sounds pretty much just like my tank except a peninsula. Mine is 48x30x24 tall, w/ the euro brace :) With yours being a peninsula I'd definitely suggest getting the most length you can, a shorter tank might not give you the effect your looking for with a peninsula style. I know your only looking at a difference of 8" but its crazy how much of a difference those few inches can make. Definitely let me know when you start your build thread so I can follow along :)

I do not have a real set in stone "I want to add these specific fish/corals" kind of list. That said, there are a couple rarer/ less commonly seen fish I would love to add if I can find them at a decent price but I don't want to jinx it or anything so I won't ever mention exactly what they are until I have them in my possession LOL I've got a couple connections tho so when the time is right and I am comfortable with the stability of the system to add some more delicate/ $$ specimen I will start the hunt :) But, I really like wrasses so I will likely add a few more ;) Also, theres a few old school acros I will eventually track down, like pearlberry and Miami Orchid. MO isn't the prettiest coral around, theres just something about it that I have always enjoyed. I will mostly focus on SPS moving forward! While I enjoy the names I look for potential color and shape/ growth patterns over anything else :)

Looking great man! Love those wrasses.

Thanks man. The new additions are all pretty sweet, definitely a good couple days of finds at Somethin' Fishy. I just wish they had nice coral too :( I'll be looking to add some more wrasses soon tho!

I've owned probably close to 20 wrasses in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if it bumps up to 30-40 with this tank before I say I'm stocked to where I want to be lol

Wow that's pretty awesome man.

Thanks man, I'm pretty excited to have the clowns laying eggs again. They used to a few years ago in my 70g but then the tank blew a seam and to my knowledge they haven't been laying since. So I am glad to see they are happy in their new place finally :)

I've become like a pro at my set of snow flake clown fish making babies. I have yet to breed them but working on getting that set up already. Check out the picture. A bit hard to see but there is some yellow a bit to your right inside the flower pot. The white markings are from eggs that hatched in the past. You have a very nice tank and set up but for those babies to make it and live, you just need to make it work for you and do some changes.

Thats awesome man, I don't plan on trying to get the babies to live really. Free food for the tank :) They are just regular occys nothing to fancy really, and there isn't really a source for me to unload them around here anyway so I'd just end up with a million clowns. If they were fancier/ had a source to move them around here I would consider trying, I definitely think its cool to be able to do and if you can reduce the wild impact around you definitely go for it!

Thank you! Miracles has been awesome and I absolutely love the tank! There are cheaper options, but IMO this tank was well worth the money and I'd do it again without hesitation! The only thing I would have done differently is I wouldn't have waiting around for a month and a half for Reef Savvy to screw around and not even come back with a full quote :squigglemouth:

Lol. Cool! I want quality. And custom size all starfire so right now there top of my list for quotes. I would like to get peninsula style with one end being the overflow. 5' by 28 wide and 22 tall.

That will be an amazing tank! I had a good deal on a 8x3x2 from another place that I was considering before I decided to order this tank.... kinda glad I decided against it now since we are planning on putting the house up for sale and moving soon, this one will be a big enough pain. I may even just sell it off and buy another miracles tank just to not have to move it, and upgrade again at the same time

My order officially went in yesterday day for a tank and sump build, so excited.

Sweet what size did you end up going with?

I had an odd size wall space so DT is 68x20x22h with a special 4 chamber sump measuring 42x16x16.

Nothing wrong with ordering what you can make fit. That is a real nice size tank too! Starphire? :)

Yes starfire and rimless. I ultimately went with miracles because Derek was so easy to work with. I made a few changes to the tank and sump even after I submitted a "final" drawing and he was cool about it. I truly wanted a reef savvy with phantom bottom and ghost overflow but at $2790 before shipping I just couldn't justify it. And for Synergy to do the sump was over twice as much as Derek doing it.

I managed to get both the tank and sump and still have money left over to stock it.

Yeah I was the same way, I wanted a Reef Savvy bad, but I definitely don't regret the decision :) Yeah RS was out of their mind and even after finally getting the quote it didn't include shipping which I requested since I live in MI and not going to drive down there for it lol I think all said and done my tank was going to be real close to 4 grand with RS shipped.

I think things are progressing along nicely with the clown eggs....
