My mistake and major outbreak. Urg!

Well I became one of those stories. Successful tank with QTing for long time. I bought 4 Fish from divers Den and put into DT without QTing and paying for it dearly. Saw inch and velvet within a day On Blue hippo tang and now missing and royal gramma dead. I got 4 fish out in a HT and still need to catch 4 more 2 chromis a linear blend and one of a bonded pair of banghi cardinals but don’t see him either now. I am crushed. Ruined my weekend. Need to rip apart tank to find the remaining. I trusted the divers den process despite all reading about warnings. One question for all I did get out my leapord wrasse and read about sensitive to curimine. But. that is all I have so is there success treating them with this. She looks fine right now in the first dose of cuprimine.

My first recommendation is to pause and read up on all the sticky's on this subforum, as hard as it is to not immediately jump into the process of fixing things.

Rather than Cupramine, you really should consider Copper Power or Chloroquine Phosphate (CP) instead as is easier on the fish. But make sure to read up on what types of fish can handls Copper vs. CP first:

You will want to do a freshwater dip and a Ruby Red bath prior to putting them in the QT.

I would recommend Copper Power for the wrasse especially and it’s widely available.

I am sorry for what you are going through! Totally frustrating! I agree with copper power for Wrasses.....Wrasses and Leopards (I have 6 Leopards) in particular don't handle copper so for sure read up on it like the others have said! Wish you luck and keep us informed on how things are going! Also did you inform DD?

Sorry this is happening DD does not treat all fish, they just treat as needed and only observe for minimum 2 weeks... so it's not a real QT. They do recommend that everyone QT their fish.
