I acclimated two mollies to saltwater to test my display tank for ich. After 7 days neither have any signs of ich. Am I in the clear? How long should it take for them to test positive if there is some parasite in the tank?

It would be best to go a full two weeks. Then make the determination.

Dredging up old thread rather than post new.

If I add two FW black mollies to my sump and observe for two weeks, will they develop ich if it's in my system?

Trying to figure out a "mostly" reliable way to determine if ich is present rather than putting my fish through QT/copper and letting display be fallow for 76 days.

Well, I can tell you my personal experience with mollies and marine ich.

I bought six mollies months ago to verify my velvet treatment worked, which it did. Fast forward a bit, they're living happily in my display. I buy a Hippo Tang, and during my TTM quarantine I accidentally cross contaminated my display tank. Which I did not discover until the Hippo in my display broke out with ich. Months later, I am managing ich, though the Hippo still shows the occasional spot now and again. The mollies have never presented with a single spot of ich the entire time, even being stressed out and bullied by eachother and the other fish. These mollies were from a store that sold only freshwater and had never been exposed to marine ich before.

So no, mollies aren't a 100% guarantee to show ich is not present in a tank.

Darn....

I hate thought of putting my fish ages 5-12 through copper. But also don’t want to kill new fish with possible inch.

Ich is very rarely fatal, and if my bumbling self can manage it, I am sure you can as well. Before I even started making an effort, I didn't know until I had the Hippo.

You could do tank transfer method. Done right it is just as effective as copper, and far less stressful on a fish.

Yeah, I somewhat assume my tank has had ich for the last 10 years or so but not verified. Maybe saw a spot here or there a few years back. Never any other outward signs.

I've been lazy stocking the tank and want to ramp it up this year and go from 4 to 35 in my 300. But really don't want to have my current fish in a smaller tank for 76 days.
