My mushroom killed my xenia

Hi all, I have a 13.5 gallon nano tank that has about 30 mushrooms in it. They are mostly in 1 area. How do you keep them from spreading and killing my other corals? My poor Xenia died after a mushroom laid on it. Other then removing the mushrooms, or my other softies, what else could be done?

I think your mushrooms did you a favor. Xenia is a weed!

But for real I don't if there's much you can do to stop them from smothering. It's what some corals do. I've seen my green star polyps cover an entire colony of waving hand corals in my tank. I think the best thing to do is isolate the corals that smother (gsp, cloves, mushrooms) on their own rock.

You can do little besides limiting its ability to propagate by isolating them on a rock island as said above

Thanks for the replies. I just have to redo the tank. In a nano tank I will have to think this one out.

You can use aptasia x or kalk paste , joes juice etc to kill off pest shrooms and zoa n palys.etc.
