Hey I figured I’d start one of these. This tank was purchased as is from my LFS since they was downsizing there marine section. Everything was purchased at $100 for the 20L, substrate, an the Tidal 55 filter. I added the rock. This picture is me just getting the tank an adding the rock. It’s Life rock seeded live rock.
The substrate is around 15 years old an full of life.

This is the tank in its current state. My water tested out at ph was 7.3 an my nitrates was around 165 ppm. I’m thinking the high nitrates was from me stirring the bed up in the move. I have seeded my matrix in the tidal an I have added purfiltrum, an I’m doing 5 gallon water changes a week till my nitrates are down before I add any kind of fish.
The lights I did have was dual 6.5k kelvins but they have been swapped for a T-8 marine glo.

First test for nitrates was 165 ppm, second test was 80 ppm. Next test will be tomorrow ‘Wednesday March 20th’ an hopefully ready for fish once we move.
