My nem has looked like the photo below for weeks now. Maybe even a month. I had dinos and had to fight that but before it was healthy and fully extended. My nitrates are around 20 which I'm working on getting down. Phos is 0 per my hannah, calcium sitting around 450. The rest of my params were good on Sunday.

I have been getting my lights ramped back up from the dino fight, which I may have finally won. My hammer is doing great, acans doing well, zoas starting to open again, and mu psammo is extended well. Every morning he is closed up into a tight ball. Once the lights come on he slowly flattens out but his tentacles never extend out.

This is the only guy in my tank that doesnt appear to be doing well. Any advice?

Also it eats everytime I feed him which is just frozen misys shrimp, small amounts, but not sure what to do to get him to respond.

Also for all you ladies it could be a she if you are the one to help me out I'll let you name it.

Looks fine to me. Bubble tips are notorious for changing shapes. As long as the mouth is not gaping open then it is fine.

Yes closing up at night is fine too. Anemones are some of the strangest little creatures

Nothing out of ordinary- Definitely not dying. Call it a phase if you will and when them clowns are pounding it all day- they need a rest period.

My concern is that his tentacles havent extended in so long. He used to look like this. It's just a drastic change that worried me.

Increase your whites about 10% and same with water flow.
What is your salinity ?

My salinity is 1.024 and my flow is a gyre running up to 100% and back down to 10 every few seconds. I have tried the presets, custom creating patterns and now just the simple on/off pattern. I can drop the flow.

My lights are mh so I cant adjust the whites.

I understand on lights. Raise salinity to 1.026 and see how nem responds- It should

I can increase the time that the main lights are on. Also forgot to mention that I have a t5 for the blue lights.

Yes increase even an hour or two

Ok will do. Is there a formula for adjusting my salinity? I have about 15 gallons that is at 1.028 right now. I just started making more fresh to drop it.

Cool will try that. Thanks again. I know that there are a lot of different suggestions on lights, but should I run a 14 hour cycle? If so how long should I run the mains and then the t5? Sorry for so many questions.

id run T5 9am -10p and halides 11a -8 or 9p

Yep a few times a week I feed it misys and my clowns take any larger chunks to it.
2X per week sufficient. Clowns will also feed it
