Very nice tank! Are you running your Fluval SP6 full power? Any reactors and/or fute plumbed in? What head height is it to your DT? I am considering this pump for my upcoming 200g but was worried it would be too much flow.

IT is very powerful . ..and mine is wide open...my lfs has this same pump on his 400 gallon tank...head height is roughly 3 feet maybe a lil more and I'm still getting 3,000gph easily . ...with both my mp40's off there is still enough flow to move polyps on my sps...I've had mine 3 years now...I cleaned it twice and both times there was hardly anything in it like no build up...it's quiet and doesn't run hot...I don't know why more people don't buy it...must be they don't know about it

UPDATE :
2 months ago I had the worst thing happen that could happen .... my tank crashed...and in the most unexpected way ...it was from a bad design in my plumbing ... it took 3 and 1/2 years to bite me but it got me in the end ...a snail crawled in my drain line and clogged it up ...normally this wouldn't bother a system with 2 drains because the other drain would just work a little harder ... but not in my system ... I'm running a Fluval SP6 at 100% and anybody who has one or knows about this pump knows it does not play ... well once clogged the water overflowed over the top ....the flow of water touched my MP40 controller first shorting it out I assume (I was still asleep at the time this is only an assumption) ...but it didn't stop there ...it found a way to my distribution block ....NOT GOOD... it shorted out 1 of my Radion Gen 3's.... then my heater ... but didn't reach my ATO (oh how I wish it had) well as the water kept overflowing my ATO kept adding ... 15 GALLONS to be exact as i have a 20 gallon reservoir for the ATO ... Salinity dropped to 1.020 ... temperature dropped to 72° and this must of went on for 5 hours are so ...i was woken up by the smell of burned wires ...i was in a dream I thought ... NO WAY THIS IS HAPPENING ... I was crushed ... I wasn't thinking straight ... automatically started unplugging stuff and putting my hand in water without disconnected the distribution block ... I'm blessed I didn't electrocute myself smh ...but as I said earlier I wasn't thinking straight ... it was 2am ...i cut on the Radion that wasn't damaged and behold I almost cried ....water was cloudy ... skin falling off of LPS & SPS ... all before I had to leave for work in 2 hours ... I did a 30% water change immediately to remove as much burned water as I could (it had that smell) added 3 bags of chemipure blue ....praying my fish would be o.k. but already knowing the corals were toast ... because much as it hurt I had to go to work ...it was a new job and they don't like missed time except for a death in the family ...so I got dressed not wanting to and had the worst day I've ever had ...took me 8 hours to clean out everything when I got home ... from cutting off dead SPS to scooping out the flesh of my Scoly's.....have you ever seen detached flesh on a Scoly ... I HAVE... and it hurts ... but giving up never entered my mind .... I've been in this hobby for 7 years ...NO WAY 1 CRASH WOULD STOP ME so I begin planning ....i redid my plumbing ...cleaned and rescaped my rock ...repositioned the corals that survived ....by the way all the fish survived and called my lfs to order new equipment ...2 Gen 4 Radions ....2 QDMP40'S ... and a Reef link ... Shawn Hale at Fritz generously sent me 2 boxes of salt free to help out ...which I used immediately to do a 100% water change....well more like 80 % but it was a bunch of water ....biggest water change I've ever done ....so 2 months later I'm back stable and ready to order coral

I fixed my drain so I would never have that problem again

I used some endcaps that I cut open with a grinder to allow water and detritus through and nothing else ... after cutting the slits I sanded it down smooth to slow down algae growth ...cause honestly it's hard to prevent ..but that's why I have a reefers best friend lol a toothbrush
