Hi guys just purchased my first ever marine tank! got it on ebay for £300.00
MARINE AQUARIUM AND CABINET | eBay
Looks in great condition, 450 litres with all kit, what do you guys think?

everything needed the guy says, not sure of the actual specs of the lighting ect but fully read to reastablish with i believe 40k around of live rock

ok guys today i got the whole thing set up and bought some reef rock and sand for tank, im going 50/50 with live rock and reef rock and collecting saltwater later this week. I will maybe upload some pictures in the near future

OK guys i have water in the tank and this morning got some live rock
i Have finished my aqua-scaping and have a question about one of the anemones on my live rock, sorry for the following awful pictures my phones camera sucks
So is this little guy good or bad?

looks like aiptasia, bad nuc them!
there are a few animals that will eat them but depending on your plans of stocking the tank, they might not be compatible

if there is only that one I would remove the rock and chip it off with out hurting it. that way it cant expel spores creating hundreds more

so basically today i went back to my lfs and took the rock back and got some lovely more bits and currently have no more aptasia spent a while sorting out new rock styles etc, my skimmer started foaming after the 48 hours it took to start up so its all going great at the moment, i sat down and looked the tank in happiness and see a bristle worm going through one of my bits of reef rock. Now i have heard many people say they are nice scavangers and help the tank etc but others say they kill corals so whats your opinion? should i keep it? . . or say goodbye?

Nice start, the second to last pic looks like a tube worm or feather duster of some kind. I like your aquascape. What other filtration do you have? Flow? Give us some details.

For aiptasia, you can smother them with kalk solution (pickling lime), aiptasia X, peppermint shrimp sometimes do the trick, butterfly fish do as well but aren't always reef safe, and lastly bergia nudibranchs are obligatory feeders of aiptasia but can be pricey.

thanks guys starting to get some more aiptasia and hmm this anenome hasnt done anything harmfull at all yet, just sits and waits and i have
Ehiem classic 600 2217 external filter
V2 skim 600 (skimmer)
Juwel 300 watt heater
Tunze 6045 powerhead planning (on getting another one of these next month as they are pretty expensive 4500 litres per hour so its pretty powerfull)
Also are these tube worms / fanworms bad?

Hello all just wanted to ask a little question should i carry out a nitrate test on my ssyem as it has been a week since i put live rock on
