My new 6 bulb fixture question

Hello all i am currently changing lights from my 2x AI sol blue to a 6bulb tek fixture over my 80 rimless for sps...now my question for all of you is, is this coloration of bulbs to much blue?

here it goes

1xaquablue azure
4x actinic blue
1x actinic purple

In opinion yes. 4 actinic is a lot, usually only need 1-2 depending on other colors. Too much actinic will wash out all blue and purple corals in tank not to mention no par levels. Your tank will look like a night club.

I like blue plus. Great blue with some par. Par is lacking in actinic. I use 1 actinc, 1 coral plus, 1 purple plus, 2 blue plus, 1 50/50 for extra par on sps. Can switch the 50/50 for another blue plus for lps tanks.

In my 6 bulb ATI over an SPS tank, I have 4x Blue Plus, 2x Coral Plus, and a supplemental super actinic Build My LED mounted to the side. I love the color of the 4x Blue +and 2x Coral +.

I Agree with @Tab28 . Dump the actinics. The ATI Blue+ is a much better option as it puts out just as much PAR as the white bulbs. It really is an amazing bulb as you get the blue color but with no loss of PAR.

In a six bulb fixture my preferred combo is 4 Blue+ 2 Aquablue Special. I like a ratio of 60% blue, 40% white. This combo will give you great SPS growth and coloration.

I'm running all giesemann bulbs, getting pretty good bar with the blues white and purple...I guess time will tell with the coral growth

Giesemann Actinic Blue = ATI Blue+

We didn't know he was running all Giesemann bulbs until now. I assumed he was using ATI actinics.

I thought actinic blue was the color bulb not a company color. I have seen actinic plus which i thought was the same or close to blue plus. Actinic blue by name says to me it is actinic with a few more blue lengths. No other color like the plus line has. Does it have par of the actinic plus or blue plus?

I think you'll like the combo. It's what I'm currently running. I have a couple blue+ sub'd for 2 the actinic blues but it's a great looking combo that'll grow the sticks well.

The main difference visually, to me, between the actinic blue and the blue+ is the actinic blue is less of a greenish blue If that makes sense.
