Can you take a picture of the plumbing and sump? I'm new and am looking for ideas I have about 80% of the equipment but want to know the best way to set it up.
By the way it looks awesome, is it your first go at saltwater?

The long wait... Yeah. It was finishing highschool. Then college. Then the dynamics of a first career job. Then changing careers and starting my own business... Add in relationship changes. First house. Getting married. Etc...
Finally stable. So time to add hobbies back into it! After over 20 years...
As for equipment, I'll try to get a pic tonight. Not running anything yet besides the overflow and return pump.
Modular Marine overflow with Beananimal overflow tube design.
3/4" return with VAC random flow generator.
I'm going to change the current piping in the sump area for more room.
Planning an IceCap 1k or 3k gyre pump and Somatic 60 or 90s skimmer.
That's about all that's certain right now. So need to figure the rest out and make decisions.

Your tank and scape are really nice.
The rock and substrate might take a bit more than a couple of weeks to clear the nitrogen process, but it's all good and thank you for sharing. I cannot wait to see the progress.

Well, the tank will process 2ppm ammonia in one day. So that's good.
But nitrites and nitrates are high. I've done a 40 gallon water change, and they are still high... Running out of salt.
Is this bad? Should I look into nitrate exports?
Also, no algae growth. Tank is still clean besides the slight discoloration I've posted.

Do you have a hang on overflow? About how much would you say you have put into the tank $ wise? I'm trying to find something that is going to be similar to my future setup so I can use it as a reference, it seems a lot of people on here have the decked out tanks or hopes drilled and this isn't an option for me. Super interested the tank looks really good though. Where do you plan on getting your coral and fish?

I drilled my tank and used a Modular Marine overflow. Running a 40g breeder sump with custom baffles.
I'm probably almost $2k into the project so far. Including salt and rock.
Likely going to get fish locally for now. Although I hear Liveaquaria is really good.
