My new corals fell!!

A couple days ago I bought some new frags for my nano, and I woke up this morning I woke up to my frogspawn in the sand. I’m realizing the spots where I put that and the hammer don’t hold the plugs very well, but they’re my only options for a low spot in the tank. Is it okay long term to put a dot of reef glue on each plug to keep it in place?

You can safely use glue to hold the frags in place (super glue or similar).

I like to cut the stem of the frag plug off and glue the base down.

If you can find a spot with more space between the rock and coral it will give them room to grow.

How else are you going to hold it down? LOL, put a big ol’ glob on there. Won’t hurt anything. Everyone glues or cements their frags down. As you found out, they don’t stay put just sitting in the rock. Especially if you have any clumsy inverts crawling around.

Okay gotcha! I’m pretty sure how I found out wasn’t a clumsy invert, but a clumsy wasp fish

I have bone cutters that I use, but a heavy duty diagonal cutter will snap them right off

Thanks! I just ordered some bone cutters from brs. We’ll see if I can get the frags out to be able to cut the plug when they come, though. I used some seachem reef glue to put them in place for the time being and they seem to be pretty stuck

I typically make an epoxy sandwich, super between the plug and epoxy and glue between the epoxy and rock. Holds well.
