I want to try and make thinner frag plugs for growing out zoas. So I tried it. It worked. Now all I have to do is tap a razor blade on the frag plug and it breaks.

It is the one on the left (as you look at the pic)

Hard to tell how big they are but I've had issues with disks that thin blowing around from flow. How do yours hold up to flow?

They are as thick as a piece of carboard from a USPS Priority shipping box. As for flow problems no idea. Just pulled them out of the kiln 20 mins ago. They are still kinda warm.

I make thin plugs for my corals as well.. I can crush them with putty into my rock work so it there is no cluster of hockey pucks on my aquascape.

That's a good idea but when I tried it they blew around in the tank

I bet they would in your tank. You got killer flow! Me not so much. That is actually one of your disk sitting behind it. These things weight nothing compared to yours. I will have to try them out tomorrow.

I was not compering them to mine I was just telling you that i had those made for me before and customers did not like it because of them floating and stuff like that  Again I'm just putting my 2 cents

No I was not saying anything bad. I was actually agreeing with you that with a decent flow they would probably float around. My sandbed has good flow but I don't know if it strong enough. That is why I made a couple to see. By me saying yours was behind it was me just stating that these might be to light if you have a lot of flow. That is all.

I'm not taking it that way at all , like i say since you stated that they were a lot lighter than mineand then i said that I had those before.

Ok I did not want to step on your toes or anything. You guys are my favorite store. Even though it takes me 40 mins to get there and I have a LFS less then a mile away from me. Don't want you guys to throw stuff at me when I come in. Even though I don't get to come in there that much.......:(

Not at all, yesterday that guy was just talking smack and I was not referring to you  you are welcome to come by anytime you wish.

Yesterday? Ohh yeah I remember. Ok. I just wanted to make sure you where not going to have the guys take me out back and dump skimmate on my head.....lol

I received some polyps on thin plugs from a vendor. Great for propagation. But they blow around really easy and even my clean up crew flips them upside down.

I think if I make short stubs for them they might be all right on a frag shelf. I just dont like stubs. I normally break them off when I put them on the rocks. Maybe if they are short they will fit better on the rocks.

I've had a few frags on these super thin discs lately. Vortech food. :(
