I used a 50 Gallon Rubbermaid Stock Tank for the tank.

It uses a common sump with my main display tank.

The water is fed into the Frag tank from the
main return pump and flows back to the sump.

I am currently using Ten T12 Daylight bulbs (6500k).
I will be changing out the center Two with Actinics (on Order).

The lights are controlled by the two timers on the upped left.

Very clean, simple and effective i like it alot.

Ooh I like it very much! Where did you get that stand?

T12's are just common flo. lights that can be found at Home Depot correct?
Do you get good growth from them?

I built the stand, it is just 2x4s and plywood.

The light is made from 5 shop light fixtures from Lowes they were $10
each. The bulbs are GE Daylight bulbs 6500k, but I will be replacing
the center two bulbs with Actinics next week when they come in.

I have heard the 6500K give good growth, so I will find out.

Just 2x4s and plywood, painted with grey floor paint to protect it.

The stand is 6 feet tall 4 feet wide and 2 feet front to back.

Yes 6500k GE bulbs look not so good, but the growth is amazing. Speaking from experience.

For those who may want to build the stand.

How to build the stand

Supplies:
8 – 8 foot 2x4s (get nice ones)
2 - 2’x4’ sheets of half inch plywood
1 -2’x4’ sheet of quarter inch plywood
Waterproof Wood Glue
1 Box Exterior Screws 3â€
1 Box Drywall screws 1.5â€

1. Cut Four of the 2x4s 6’ feet long (These will be the main legs)

2. Cut the leftovers Two foot section from step 1 and cut them to 21â€
(These will be the sides of the shelves)

3. Cut Two of the 2x4s in half (these will be the front and back of the shelves).

4. Using an eight inch drill bit pre-drill the 4 foot sections for the screws
(2 per end)this will keep the wood from splitting (do not skip this step)

5. Glue and screw the 4 foot and 21†sections to make 2 rectangles.

6. Glue and screw the half inch plywood on to the Rectangles from step 5.

7. Decide the level you want the lower shelf to be (mine was 36â€) and subtract 4â€.
This will be the length needed to cut the sub legs (Mine were cut to 32â€)

8. Using the remaining 2x4s cut the sub legs to length.

9. Using glue and screws attach the sub legs to the main legs.
(Make sure the bottom edges are flush).

10. Using glue and screws attach the lets to the top and lower shelf.

11. Cut eight triangles out of the quarter inch plywood.
(I cut mine by making four 10†squares then cutting them in half across the corners)

12. Using glue and screws attach the triangle braces to the stand 4 at the
top on the front and back faces of the stand, and 4 on the lower shelf on the
inside sides of the stand.

Notes: I painted mine with floor paint to protect the wood.

If you make the stand 6'3" tall you could skip step 2 since the
leftovers will already be 21" long, I had to go 6' for clearance.

I would not make the lower shelf any higher than36" or you may
have trouble getting the stock tank in (you have to tip it to get it in).

hah!

i did the EXACT same thing. lol

here's my sump rig - the center stock tank i had to really force into place, not realizing when i built the stand how tight a fit it would be. that effer almost didn't make it in!!!

I'd have to agree with other that have commented. That rack turned out amazing. I just built one myself that didn't turn out as nice. If you had posted this a couple of weeks ago I would have gone with this design.

It is based off my sump stand design.

I just wanted something strong.

Remember Paint hides a lot of oops :)

Great looking set up. Very nice.

Thank you
