Yay!

do u have a pair or just one?nice shrimp:)
2 harlequins died on me one by one because i bought them one by one also like not in pairs..until i found the right one...
now i think i have a male and female...one is a bit pinkish color and one is blue...they get along..shares food.

fyi you can't distinguish sex of Harlequin Shrimps by color. Only way is by the color of the abdomen. Females have blue stripes running across it and males are an off white color. Also females have a much larger abdomen than males. =)

i dont know but my harlequins have different color...so im guessing they are male and female..i just dont know which is which:)

I love harlequins - they're by far one of my favorite marine critters. I bought a "pair awhile back - and then as soon as I put them in my tank they decided they didn't like each other - wouldn't share starfish - and were constantly chasing the other away. Don't know what happened in the bag on the trip home.

Great pictures.

I'm sure they got in a fight over how they were going to decorate their new home... you now how these things are.

Thanks :)

They were probably just 2 random harleys and not a true pair. This happens very often.

They were most likely two males or two females. Same sex will not tolerate each other in the same tank.

If two harleys are not mated pairs. They will pair up if given enough time. However two harleys of the same sex will never get along once they are mature.

can i post a pic of my harlequins kraylen if u dont mind?..i have a pic that u can tell a bit difference on the color..one is a bit paler and one is dark...i understand if u dont want to...:)

heres my pair...1 is darker blue and 1 is pale...(i lost 2 harlequins before i get to find a match)
i chopped them starfish legs 1 each...my previous harlequins whenever i chopped them a piece of leg each..one is gonna try to get both...so its either one got starved...and same again when i bought another one...until i found the paler color harlequin..they know when they have a piece of food each and they know when to share food...

i guess if you wanna buy harlequins, buy a true pair...

thanks kraylen
