So excited to finally get one...always wanted one but wasn't willing to pay $300 for one. I've only had this guy for a day now but he's already eating anything you put in front of him. His fin is a little banged up from the plane ride from LA but I think it will heal just fine. I ordered a medium and he ended up being 6" His color is much nicer then in my pictures but i'm hoping he'll continue to color up into a "super male". We got another one in the order that was about 8", insane because I thought these guys were only supposed to max out at 5". If anyone has any advice on keeping these guys please let me know, i've read as much as I could find on the internet about these guys.

Only if you have other wrasses in the tank, I'm afraid.

Which brings me to:

What do you mean by this? There was another fish in the LFS order, or you purchased two of these? Two male fairys of the same species in the same tank is not recommended.

Mine would have jumped out multiple times had my tank not been covered. Mine is fairly large about 4.5". I'm really not sure they get as big as 8" but I'm no expert.

no I only have one, I just so happen to be able to get it wholesale and another person on the order got a large one. He was at least an inch or two bigger then my guy. When I ordered the medium I just assumed he would be 2-3" or so...LOL.

haha....that's not quite all of my hammer/torch/frogspawn garden. Kind of got tired of sps so I decided to go all softies and lps :-) Am working on accumulating as many different colors as I can afford.

Congrats, its a beautiful fish! Wrasses are one of my favorite species for sure. Great fun to watch, and have amazing color.

Great fish 1 of my favorite wrasses and can't go wrong gettin I at wholesale price congrats

Love the Lineatus, but its my unicorn. Both pairs that I had fell to ich brought in by another fish.

Might have to try again after my new fish get settled in :)

Nice one.I had a 360 gallon mixed reef with numerous supermale wrasses with no problems.I do suggest you worm him.Fairy wrasses often have worms and will wither away after a couple of months.Once they are aclimated and feeding they are pretty easily kept in my opinion. If you add a mixture of different supermales it really makes for a tank that pops.

That's awesome corals1dennis! I'm used to be addicted to tangs, and now i'm slowly converting over to wrasses after getting this guy ;-) I would love to have a mix like you do, however, I only wish I had a 360 gallon tank! LOL We have a 225 in storage and ready to be set up when we buy our house next year, so maybe then I can mix a few wrasses together like you have.
