My new Pink Bubble Tip Anenome keeps moving!

Sorry for the second post of the day. So i put this beautiful Pink Tip in the tank today. It came on a small piece of rock. Well in the past few hours it has traveled almost a 1/4 of the way across my tank. Staying on the top of my rock I think it found it happy spot. I was very beside myself as i watched this baby start to move. I was concerned it would fall and get sucked up by the rock. This little thing moved like a pro. So my question is why do they move? Had no idea they did, but why? I educated myself for 3 months before buying and made a perfect environment for this baby.

It will probably move a couple more times until it finds a perfect spot that has the proper amount of flow and lighting. Most bubble tips like a good amount of both but if he ends up on the bottom side of the rocks you might have to much light. Just keep an eye on him for the next few days. Just hope he doesn't like the glass of the aquarium like one of my old ones did, it was a pain to clean around him.

It actually moved down about 3 inches and wedged itself in this little chute between both rocks. Actually a perfect place for viewing from the front of the tank.

Good luck with it and don't be shocked when you look in your tank in the morning and it's in a brand new spot. It is definitely a very nice looking anemone. I think I want to get one of those sunburst anemones but they are pricey!!

BTAs will continue to move around, especially when you have other sensitive corals in your tank... they'll perch right on top of them.

The trick with BTAs is that they won't crawl over sand, so if you can isolate them on a piece of rock, you can control where they go. Be careful though, because they can stretch!

or just let go and free float.

No one mentioned putting a sponge or screen on the power heads and pumps. They can wander in to them until they settle in.
It's yucky. That was my first nem experience.
