My new project

The 50/50 peroxide ( 1/2 tank water and 1/2 3% peroxide ) is a good way to permanently kill GHA when you can’t fully remove it manually. Safe for Zoa’s as long as it’s kept to about a 5 minute dip. They usually will remain closed for a few days. They are opening already.
ok. not something I'll be doing then. I like a little of the green stuff growing the tank.
gives my herbie's all day feeding opportunities.

I was a little hesitant to do it but from what I’ve read here on the forum, it’s usually pretty successful.
I don’t have any herbivores except for a few blues legs and snails. They have never gone near it.

Couple of “top downs” of “The Worlds Most Crowded Nano”!

Got some maintenance done today. Small water change and a pump service. Took apart the Sicce 1.0 and gave it a thorough cleaning. I can gauge how dirty the pump is by watching the revolutions of the “Spin Stream”. When it slows down, the pump needs cleaning.

I love those spin streams, I have them in my IM30 Long. They may not add a lot of flow but it does help break up and distribute the flow from my MP10.

I think they are great. Just like the reviews said, they are a little noisy for a few days but once the gears mesh, dead silent. Of course, if you take it apart to clean, they are noise for a day or so again.

I’m in the process of a new creation. A while back, I made a removable cover to keep the snails in and the cat toys out. Works great but it’s boring looking.
I ordered (2) 12”x12” sheets of 1/4” Plexiglass in “neon green”!
Im making a new lid that is in 2 pieces and will be “edge lit” with LED strip lights.

Step one of the new edge lit cover is done. Its cut and the vent holes and wire passages have been bored out.
Its very bright under the whites but the lid only goes on at night anyway. Usually about an hour before the blues fade to off.
Now I need to hinge it at the seam and then tint the neon green surface. The light passing through the vent holes will be enough to illuminate all the edges.
In these pix, it casts a yellow light through the entire tank. Once it’s tinted, hopefully, it won’t. I’ll get more pix when the whites ramp down.

I tried it with dark window tint and it was still too insanely bright. I did a vinyl wrap and it’s much better. I want the edges to light up pretty bright but it was illuminating the entire room in yellow. Again, it’s only for just before lights out and over night.
The black plastic hinge will hide the center seam.

Had to move my Duncan yesterday. It had been happy where it was but the Toadstool has gone through a growth spurt over the past month and was blocking the light from the Duncan. It had been opening less and less. It’s still pretty “ticked off” this morning. Going to have to keep an eye on it.

FedEx tracking says my Nem should be delivered by noon tomorrow.
I have a nice spot picked out for her where the sand bed is very shallow. Hopefully, she will just bury her foot and attach to the bottom glass and stay there.

ITS SOOOOOOO TINY!
I have one of the wave makers turned off until it takes hold. With all of the flow going, I was chasing it all around the tank.
I moved my giant Elephant Ear Shroom to the side of the tank to make room for this little lady.
