This Friday I picked up my RedSea Reefer 350! To say the least Im stoked! After I got it home I was pretty impressed with the packaging. Everything is well thought out. I got the stand out of the car and got my Ikea tools ready. The stand went together without a hitch everything fit perfectly. I didn't know that the stand had a pad for the sump and the tank. Im a Huge fan of the soft close doors and how large the access is to get into the sump.

The tank had all the goodies inside including the sump, all the plumbing, the ATO tank, The AI 26 HDs, and the Light brackets. Once I made sure the stand was perfectly level on all sides set the tank on made sure to line it all up, set the sumo in place, then did the plumbing. The plumbing was as easy as it gets. Im still not sure if I will keep the plumbing the way it is or build another manifold. (What do you all think?) Then set the ATO tank on its pretty small so I'm gonna have to be sure to stay on top of it.

After the sump was taken care of then opened up the lights and light bracket. Couldn't get much easier setting them up the lights mount up to the brackets with just a couple screws. The only thing I could see someone getting confused about is removing the fan cover to install the mounting bracket for the screws to attach from the mount to the light. Once I got the lights attached to the mounts mounted them to the tank, plugged them in, downloaded the AquaIllumination App, paired the lights using the app, and that was that.

All in all I am impressed!! Now to get the pumps, rock, sand, and power heads!! Cant wait to fill this guy up from all the stuff at the Shop. Follow along for some more updates.

It’s lovely! Are the lights just an added bonus or do they come with it normally? I’m looking at a new tank since I really need more room for a proper sump. This looks like a great tank. What’s the gallonage on it?

You can get the setup with or without the lights which is a nice option. Total water volume is 90 gallons. I’ll see how much water I get in there after rock and sand. I think it’s a great option for the money.

Awesome, I really like those tanks. I always wanted one. Man it must have felt like the best Christmas morning of you’re live.. lol

I couldn’t sleep the night before. I have never bought a tank brand new except my biocube I had.

Have fun, Where did you order your reefer 350?

A little update. I got all the equipment in I went with a Jebao DC return pump, QP-9 Powerheads, a Jebao DC Cloud Skimmer (interested to see how this does) , and a DP-4 dosing pump.

I also have 60 pounds of Dry Fiji Rock and (3) 20 lbs bags of Caribsea Caribbean Reef Sand.

Finally filled the tank and now the hard part sit back and watch it cycle.

LuckIly there is plenty to play with at the shop.

Side note after I filled the tank the Valve for the drain needed to be adjusted ever so slightly to get the perfect drainage. I read that’s a common thing with the Reefers.

Watching as I will be ordering a XL 425 in a few months when I move to my new townhouse.

Need cycling update!!

How is it going? How did you cycle? I hope all is good!!! :)

Time for an update? ;Chicken;Stinkyfeet

I am following. I just assembled the stand for my reefer 350 deluxe tonight. I will be setting the tank up over the next few days.
