My new sps become thin

Would you please let me know whether decreasing Ca by 60, Mg by 50 and Kh by 2 or 3 in every week is normal for my tank regarding changing 7% percent of water. I use red sea coral pro salt.

why would you purposely decrease ca or mg? they will both come down naturally and have no detrimental effect.

kh... you are playing with gasoline. read read read and then read more.

look at no3 and po4. then determine kh imho.

I also used salifert to check phosphate always got 0 then I got a Hanna checker much more accurate.
why i will never use salifert. just look at amazon reviews. they have the same problem.

i almost almost almost went hannah but tried red sea pro at the advice of a good friend.

i will probably still get hanna.

imo ONLY hanna and red sea pro are dependable.

Water changes will not replace all your elements. It sounds like your tank is using more kH, Ca, etc. due to coral growth. The more your corals grow the more key elements they use. So, therefore; water changes are no longer enough to replenish those elements.

I use Red Sea Coral Pro as well. I dose 2-part with BRS. You need to get your numbers back to normal than wait a day or two and see how much they decrease. Once you know how much ml's or ppm's you are losing per day, you can calibrate your 2-part doser to replenish those elements.

I used to use Salifert but I noticed some steps were just a pain. The Hanna checkers are REALLY nice. I only use Hanna for po4, and kH. I use Red Sea tests for the others :)

get red sea pro (not red sea normal kh) to crosscheck that hanna checker. ive heard numerous people complianing that kh went out of whack after a while.

i always crosscheck every 6 months

I have another question, at the moment I have an jebao rw-8 as wave maker but I want add another one so would you please help me which one is better for add Jebao rw-15 or Jebao rw-8? my tank dimension is 130 cm * 50 cm * 50 cm

That's what I do. I use Hanna and Redsea pro. I had to many inconsistencies with Salifert from kit too kit. I test with both kits once a month or if something seems off otherwise I just use the Red sea kit.
