From the picture it looks like you're cycled but you could leave it going for a few days to be sure. Watch for the nitrate to rise more if you really want to be sure.

Ok thankies

When should I do a water change

Most people wait until they have completed the cycle to do water changes.

To me it looks like you still have a little ammonia and nitrite. How long have you been cycling? The problem with just adding a dead shrimp is that you don't know how much ammonia has been put into the water, only how much your test is showing at that moment in time.

How high did your ammonia and nitrite get?

I would agree with island...looks like you still have ammonia and nitrites...I have done water changes during cycling also..do not stir up the sand do 10%

2 or 3 days my ammonia nitrate and nitrite was all at 0ppm.....so I did the shrimp thing and I got those results

You really want the ammoina to be yellow. That’s it.

The other colors really don’t mean much. Just indicators of progress kinda. Ammoina is the one to look at at this point.

If it’s been a month , get the test verified at a lfs or an ammoina badge is cheap.
Dr Tim’s one and only is the only thing I would reccomend at this point.

Tomorrow will be a month of cycling

It could take longer than a month. Mine took over 6 weeks..to get that ammonia down do a small water change
Will I see any diatoms??

Agreed, when I cycled my latest batch of life rock it took about 5-6 weeks before the cycle really got going.

How long has it been since you added the shrimp? If you didn't have a source of ammonia before you added the shrimp, you really didn't start your cycle until the day the shrimp went into the tank.

If that is the case, your ammonia should get a lot higher, maybe 4ppm or more, before you see it go down. Leave the shrimp in until you see the ammonia go up, and then back down to 0ppm. When that happens, you have enough bacteria in the tank to get rid of the ammonia.

Get a retest or ammoina badge. Maybe some bio spira or dr runs after that.
If you didn’t put that much ammoina or food in you shouldn’t see ammonia I’d think. Just seems unusual. (Assuming good rodi etc)

You should see diatoms yea, not everyone gets a lot of them
