The following pics show what happened after removing the real reef rock and chiseling out the red nuisance algae also used peroxide. Re-scaped the rock, glued the SPS and look what I have now. Not sure what exactly it is, brown to green color. I gave a small red urchin that comes out nightly. I’ve been doing wc 4g on a 40g system weekly. Stopped dosing FWS and Reef Energy AB for now. Last test before wc was yesterday N03 was 32 on Red Sea kit and P04 was .75 on Hanna ultra low meter. Before I removed rock and chiseled, I had chaeto in the sump, small section of it. It clogged my skimmer, was making a mess so out it went. I only had it 2 weeks, that was enough. Normally this tank ran low, I had to dose nitrates, phosphates were low. But I had the red, invasive nuisance algae with fingers deep into the rock . I also just changed from TMP salt to Red Sea blue due to very high CA levels. Last 8 yrs same salt, last 3 buckets were very high in CA. Any ideas how to fix the newest dilemma? SPS are doing extremely well throughout this being moved, re glued, etc.

Difficult to say without a microscope.

Yes. Just keep the wc up and hope. It went from white rock, where it was chiseled, to brown. Now it looks like hair but I’m not sure. It was even growing on a baby trochius snail. Long and green, I scraped that off with my nail. The rest were fine.

I have noticed some bubbles where this algae is as the lights are dimming. Use Vibrant maybe?
