I am starting up my cold water build. I'm far from a newbie. All my livestock will be local (Holyrood-Cape St. Francis, Newfoundland) Thomas Glass Inc. will be insulating my 40gallon cube. It will be wrapped with a 3/8 air space with 1/8 plate glass to prevent condensation. I plan to run a jbj 1/4hp to keep my temps in check(range from 2-7 degrees Celsius) I will be collecting my coral on my own with sufficient research from a local mini aquarium (Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium)
I will be using a reef Octo bh1000 hob the same as I use on my current 35g tropical reef. Lighting will depend on the dept of coral I choose. I'm thinking anywhere from 15' to 25' dept waters. Not sure on lighting yet. I live in St. John's NL Canada but I'm from a little village named Hermitage, a beautiful place that attracts tourists every year! Keep following along for updates. Tank will be completed by end of next week then it's just to fill it and let it cycle at room temps before I slowly move everything to cold temps!
Cheers
