My NOT Observation 45g Tank

Can you share the place you got your nassarius? I need to get some more cuc

Hope your order from RC does better. He flat out told me he wouldn't honor the guarantee going forward as I had "too many doa's" I usually did the priority mail which usually did just fine--2 days. Because the mail delayed a shipment, I went to ups and still had issues. He did honor the policy but only after some harsh words between us. I was always fair and honest. But I also expect to receive live cuc!

This nem is so funny. Last night it was down under the arch. Came home from work, back on top lol's.

Good numbers mostly.
ca salifert 410
alk hanna 8.1
mg salifert 1420
no3 hanna 8.80 whoo hoo
po4 0 dosing neophos and coral food

Tank is now recovered lol's

cutting nopox in half and the zero and bio. Going to my dau's wed-sat and when I get back, will hook up a doser.

Sent a PM.

Crud... I just did a large order of blue leg hermits from reef cleaners. We will see how it goes! I usually buy cuc from the local LFS, but stock is lousy with the weather still.

I bought the nassarius off of eBay, 100 for 20 bucks with free shipping, they are the smaller variety, but overall good arrival!
Can you pm me with who you used please? Also great looking tank.

tank doing okay. Need to test again. Retail picking up so less tank fiddle time! No 3 was 16. Can't remember po4 as I forgot to log it.

Nem doesn't look so big or healthy so am trying to feed it. I've seen my clown tossing food to it so I'll add some too. Not sure if it isn't a bit tired of my clown's eagerness to be its friend!

Adding a tail spot and 4 blue damsels and that will prob. be it for fish. I do like damsels so that can be my primary damsel tank. Added some zoas. My other tank has some palys that are overgrowing it's rock, and even on the back wall. Debating putting them in this tank if it can fit without touching my main rock work. Or just let them have at it lol's

Update. I have been unhappy with the saxby light model. Switched to another but still way too blue. Evidently my nem hasn't been happy either. The little guy was making a circuit around the tank almost daily. On top, underneath, on the side etc... The blue colors have all been in the 90 or higher percent on both models I tried. Can't say it was too much or even too little. Just unhappy. Two wavemakers on either side of tank with spots not full flow either. He looked so bad the other night I pulled him out, afraid if I waited, he'd not make it.

He's back in the acclimation shu box in my other tank and after a couple days already looks much better. Added a cheap powerhead to blow more flow into the box which is what I did before.

Last tank test on 11/30
mg 1330
ca 390
alk 6.9 so been dosing more
no3 23.8
po4 .2 so put in some phosguard.
Also did a 10% water change that day.

Wish I could let it loose in the big tank but no where he could go where there aren't already corals and where I could put it, no guarentee it would stay put plus I don'tt want a ton of bta's in there! So in the meantime, more work on that tank and trying to figure out light settings to match what I have in the 240. Trouble is I just know about the kelvins (20) but not the percentages of each channel to equal. It's running 90 blue and 40 white

can you take a par reading of the smaller tank. Mine runs close to 300. Also it likes to get fed 2-3 times per week.

what is the par on the big tank.

My par is apex so can't take it into the other room. Not sure par in big tank. Running 90/40 which is approx 20-21K (kelvin) per red sea lights. I can try to see what it is getting in the box.

The lights - ai prime were super high in blues. Like 80-90 even 100 I think. I was using the AI presets. The David saxby was recommended for nems. Mine hated it...

I wasn't feeding much as the clown seemed to be tossing food at it. It didn't seem to like what I tried to feed it. I'm squirting food with vitamins in with it when I feed the fish and I dump phyto, ab+ near it for the corals at night.

do you think I could drop a pellet onto its mouth to feed right now? It can't grab food, and the water flow in the box sends what I squirt all over. Or just wait for it to recover? It is getting some vitamins in the water (I add to food bottle) plus the phyto and ab+ I add at night

Give it some time. It will be fine without food. It liked your big tank before. Just give it a week or so.

Will do. Hoping I don't lose it! It was so awesome

looks like part of my light issue is burned out bulbs. I cannot get any white. No wonder I hated the coloring. I don't know if any other led isn't working. Last light setting had almost everything set to 85-96 percent I think except green and red. Now to see if I can get this light repaired or if I have to buy new... Ugh.

Well, I think I discovered some of my nems problems with lighting. I don't seem to have any white channel working on the ai prime 26's (I think that's what they are). If those are out, maybe others. No wonder the tank was so dark and too blue for me! Ordered Nicrew lights on amazon and will send the bad light in to see if it can be repaired. If not t hey'll offer me 40% off a new one. Which I'd prob. do and then either use both lights or have a spare.

Send it to @_AV cheaper than AI/Ecotech.

Here is the tank now with new lighting. No wonder the poor nem went down hill. It's not looking super good still. Hope it can recover in my other tank. Right now am at 50 blue and 25 white. Will raise it up. Wanted to acclimate as I don't know how the 2 brands compare. Sending the prime in for repairs.

Got pics of fish except tail spot blenny and clowns. Watchman goby comes out a lot now! And yeah, got algae issues and some aiptasia to deal with

I'll try AI first in case there is no charge. And then see what they say...
If it's out of warranty, it ain't gonna be free, lol. BTDT. Then it's the usual 'water damage' talk, and they are holding you hostage since they have your light, then you are forced to pay them a exorbitant price and it comes back working. Then If you don't want to pay them your eating shipping cost, twice. @_AV is a much cheaper option.

I will never send AI/Ecotech a product out of warranty again. Hell I refuse to buy their products anymore, too over priced for what you get.

*Rant over* o_O

sorta sad and feeling guilty. I had to give up on the nem today. He wasn't gone but I didn't see any hope for it but as I leave tomorrow for 5 day, leaving hubby in charge, I didn't want him to deal with a dead nem. Had I not been leaving I'd have waited until the bitter end. I feel so guilty. The poor thing only had a few tentacles left, a bit of color but not much.

Surprisingly, if the hanna test is correct, no3 was at 4 but po4 at .2 Need to add some phosguard.
