Ok, for some of you that followed along with me and my battle in the thread Bryopsis is my Nemesis you may know that, feeling defeated, I decided to reboot all the rock in my tank by giving it extended dips in H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). This was after trying the Kent Tech-M method (didn't work).

Going through the growing pains now again of having a "young" system and have a lot GHA (green hair algae) and some cyano in my newly redone tank. I have even spotted clusters of bryopsis! (I am telling you this stuff is evil, quite possibly the spawn of satan in this aquarist's opinion)

So being the ghost reader I am on a lot of threads I decided to give Vibrant by @UWC a try after reading multiple possible results of its use ridding tanks of GHA, bubble algae, and my personal PITA - bryopsis.

I ordered the 16oz bottle of Vibrant as it says it will treat over 4,000 gallons so at a 15ml dose twice every week it should last me quite a while ($37 including shipping is still cheaper than the bottle of Tech-M I went through).

I will be continuing my normal dosing of NO3PO-X alongside the biweekly additions of Vibrant.

So here are some pictures of my tank now after I have just done a 15gal water change and pulled out a lot of the GHA and almost all the cyano.

I will post updated pics alongside every dose of Vibrant.

Feel free to ask me questions as I go or provide suggestions.

Ime, peroxide isn't enough to kill the roots that attach deep in the rock. hopefully this will work for you!
I was hopeful with the H2O2, so I literally had all my rock out of my tank for a week in freshwater and H2O2.

I have read of a few people having success already so at the price point it was worth a shot. Fingers crossed.

FWIW like your rock scape and good luck, hope it works H2O2 worked for me, but I know it doesn't for everyone:)

Tagging to follow along. Using Vibrant myself with some crazy results. Some good, some bad, but all very interesting!

Huge cyno outbreak and chaeto is dying off. However, my tank is very young and had a huge gha issue when I started. Things are much improved since then

I have seen a couple notes in the main Vibrant discussion thread of it making chaeto unhappy.

Fortunately for me my tank is currently macro free but I plan on reestablishing my refugium after the GHA and bryopsis are beat.

Following the recommended course of treatment, today was my second dose of the week. So far I have already noticed some fading of the algae, but not sure I see any recession yet.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. Looking forward to seeing your updates in the coming weeks :)

Im using vibrant as well and it is definatly working through some of my GHA, I do have a little more cyano but I believe it will take care of it. I am also only dosing once a week

I too have noticed a little cyano growth, mainly in my refugium.

My LFS has a "rent a seahare" program so I have sone assistance in my GHA removal. The GHA still in the tank definitely seems to already be weakening as the color seems to be fading.

I will post some more photos alongside tomorrow's dose.

Today was dose number 3. I did my ten percent water change last night. I am still continuing dosing NO3PO-X, my NO3 currently has tested at 0 but my PO4 is a little higher than I want at .04, I am also going to add a fish this week to increase my bioload a little as my 125 only is housing a Blue Star Leopard Wrasse, a more plain Leopard Wrasse, a citron goby and 5 garden eels.

I still have the seahare in the tank helping with algae consumption.

So you have a seahare eating all the algae and dosing no3po along with vibrant... With the algae decrease imo that is the seahare eating it and not just the vibrant.

Not really sure how this will be a definite conclusion that vibrant works when you have a seahare and dosing no3po also..

Wait, I bought this stuff to rid myself of cyano...it is causing yours to increase?!
It caused mine to increase too. As it killed off some of the easier algae the die off gave me a PO4 unbalance which fueled a massive cyno bloom. My tank really started as a mess.
Now that I have worked through the other algaes it is knocking back the cyno, too.

I understand the speculation of whether or not this would be definitive on its usefulness in a tank. I have stopped dosing NO3PO-X as my PO4 has returned to .02.

The main reason I am testing Vibrant is because of the Bryopsis in my tank which the seahare does not touch nor does the NO3PO-X.

We recommend that people use vibrant along with whatever else they are already using. If you were using nopox to keep your nutrients low, I would continue to use it. There is really no need to discontinue use of any filtration or product but use Vibrant along with them them to rid your problem algaes.
