My Picasso triggerfish (Huma Huma) literally dissapeared last night. He was gone!

I Picked up every rock. Pushed the sand around. Checked in all my equipment. He was F'in gone! I wake up this morning, there he is swimming around waiting for me to feed him like a greedy fish he is. Has anybody seen a triggerfish bury themselves deep in sand or something? that's the only way he can disappear like that. Deep in the sand. I was baffled, I assumed somebody got him and just somehow finished him in that few hours lol

They can squeeze into crevices in the rock and lock themselves in place.

I have some pretty tight rocks, and we looked quickly in them, he wouldn't move if I picked it up?

Nope they will stay in and lock their fins if they feel threaten .

I’ve just had the same thing happen,I’ve checked all filters skimmer ,rocks, behind tank and it has a fixed lid .?....?

Do you have an anemone that could take him down? That has happened to me twice.

My Clown Trigger did the same - there in the morning and gone that evening. I can't find and trace of him.

There’s nothing in my tank that could of eaten him, so I just don’t get it

Does tank have lid? Did you check the overflow and sump and area around sump? Just a couple suggestions. Good luck. Also do you have a cat or other 4 legged house pet? Beautiful Trig. You will find it

Yes full lid, no overflow as not running a sump.?? Thanks

He's laying flat on the glass, buried under a rock

Mine buries itself into a whole in the rock can only see his fin when he sleeps.
