so as of Friday my butterflies are thru 30 days of Coppersafe. They are all very healthy except a bit of infection on the raccoon but it’s much improved. Since thier permanent home ( 180) isn’t running yet my plan is to keep them in the qt ( 40 long) tank for the duration. Probably another month. Once Fri has come and gone my list is
Transplant fish to a ten gallon temporarily .
Empty the 40 and rinse all equipment and wipe down with vinegar.
Rise with water and dry as best I can.
Refill the tank with fresh salt water.
Add new sponges to the hang on back filtration as well as carbon.
Dose biospira to the tank.
Once the tank is reset up and temp and salinity is matched to ten I would reacquaint them to thier remodeled home.
Once settled in I will start dosing antibiotics for the raccoon.
Once all is well I might add some live rock for them to pick at and give them some structure.
How does this sound? I gave thought to doing a rally bath for the raccoon since it would be so easy. Actually I could dose rally to the 10 and let them all have a nice bath. Then reacquaint them to the 40.
Interested in any thoughts or suggestions or cautions.
Thanks so much to all here who helped me learn the ins and out of proper quarantining. It’s been a real learning curve and all to the good save my McKorskers Wrasse.
My best to you all!
Jim
