My possible first pest! Can it be true?

Red bugs and black bugs are live bearers, so there won't be any eggs. I had red bugs once and I dipped every sps in Bayer. I only rinsed them once in tank water before putting them back into the tank and unknown to me there was a tiny bit of Bayer left on the sps. Within minutes my shrimp was swimming upside down and a few minutes later pods were all over the place swimming in circles. I had a massive die off of pods bristleworms etc, killed all the shrimp in my tank and my fish swam funny for three days after that. I successfully got rid of the red bugs though.

Been there done that Pete polyp. I've had red bugs before and the double dose of interceptor would have killed these if they were bugs. I.e. crustacean. My friend did 4x 5he dose and had no effect on them in an in tank treatment. This is why can assume they are a type of flatworm and not a "bug".
Can you take the coral out and shoot it under normal house lights so we can actually see the affected area better. Try to focus as sharply as possible.

I'm talking about Bayer, not interceptor. I'm not familiar with what all interceptor will kill. Bayer will effect every organism with a central nervous system

There is no current evidence of more bite marks after the fenbendazole dip.
I don't want to stress it out too bad and here in a day or so I will pull it out for pictures out of water.

It's a Birdnest - throw it out, and don't risk the rest of your tank. If you're curious about the cure, put it in a QT. I've thrown some expensive mini-colonies in the garbage simply because it's just not worth the risk.

Sure, learning is good, but risking the entire display tank is wreckless imo. Do the experiments in a QT.

Please keep us updated. And keep an eye out for more. While i can dip all my frags and move them, I am looking for an in tank treatment that works. I think I have them conquered and then they show up again. I have several nicely encrusted colonies that I am trying to avoid having to tear the tank down. I'm hoping maybe my two wrasse are keeping them at bay and just cant get in the frag rack crevices that's why they are showing up there mostly. But I know they are in other places.
