Just got 2 55g tanks from petco under their dollar per gallon sale. So I guess that makes for a 110g system. LOL

I was thinking of a 120g tank with a partition like our old 55g but this would seem to be an economic alternative.

Plan to setup one as a lagoon, refugium, planted tank and the other as the display fish/coral area.

I've seen bargain builds start out this way.....Now all you need is a stand, sump, controller, calcium reactor, co2 tank, regulator, kalk reactor, return pump, protein skimmer, LED lighting, heater, chiller, testing supplies, RODI unit, GFO reactor, wave pumps, sand, rock - breath - corals and fish. Good luck! ; )

Glad you took a breath.

Anyone remember my old 55g for a decade ago?

So lets start out the plant for the thingie.

What of those things can be eliminated?

IDK, I just added bio pellets to mine today - removed the gfo requirement. Chillers also removed for the cooler months. I'd say starting out rodi is a must. Otherwise it depends on how much time and energy you have to devote to it. I can leave mine for weeks at a time for travel or vacation without much worry. Without the majority of my equipment I'd have to babysit it daily. I'd love to see pics as you progress! Have fun....
