My Powder Blue tang is one of the fish that always have a special place in my heart. He is the centerpiece fish of my tank. Always out swimming and strutting in the middle of the tank. He is certainly the boss of the tank, and is the largest fish. He have not always been the king of the tank. In fact when I first got him, I was not sure at all that he will live. MO, on sale he arrived as an emaciated 2 inches fish that was weaken and can barely swim, full of Ich.
I placed him in my 65 gal system, as the only tang. The system was overrun with algae at the time. Fortunately, he still eat and gradually regain his strength. Look at him now, at 6 inches+, one would never know that he was a pale, emaciated little fish that I got in 4/2018.

Here he was on 4/22/2018. Only about 2 inches and was emaciated, full of white powder on his body

Here he was on 7/18/2019. Heart attack city.

Here he was on 5/14/2019, at 6.5 inches, he is the king of my tank.

Great story thanks for sharing.

Don’t tell me PBT grow that fast. I love mine he is the best behaved fish I have so far.
They grow fast if given plenty of food. Most of his growth was in a 65 gal tank. He out grew it quickly. 2-6.5 inches in about 15 months. He always have food to eat as soon as he is up until bed time.
