My Progression So Far...

I've been into reefing for about a year and a half now. Here is my journey!

Just starting out. One day I decided I wanted to convert my guppy/shrimp tank into a reef. This was the result.

A little more scaping...

The wife told me I could get a new tank when I gave her another child. She didn't think I would take it seriously

The tank is now going in a highly visible spot in the house (it was in the laundry room before). I gotta do something about my light mounting...

A little electrical conduit and some black spray paint does the trick.

Moving day!

Still at it.

The work is done, it time to relax...

Thank you! Unfortunately it's been pretty slow going as far as coral growth goes, so it may be a while before the next update. I can't wait until it gets to the point that I feel comfortable making an update post!

Wow, so it's obviously been a very long time since I've updated my build thread. I've made a lot of progress and was posting it in other threads, but forgot about this one! Here are some pictures of what's gone one with me over the past... 11 months! I also just realized that I'm almost at my Reef2Reefiversary!!!

Was unhappy with my ATO so I upgraded to a 14 gallon barrel. Only stipulation from the wife was that "the ugly blue barrel wouldn't be seen"

hence the new cabinet.

And because the top was looking a little bare (you can also see my sweet powerhead upgrade as well

)

Was getting a little shading from my Hydras, so I decided the throw in a T5 retrofit which was a super fun little project!

Time for more coral after the lighting upgrade.

Aaannnddd maybe just a few more

And the latest upgrade to my system was my CO2 scrubber. Dual canister with a DIY humidifier to prevent the media from drying out (finally got this all figured out after way too much trial and error).

And there you have it. Pretty much the whole last year of my reefing experience

Thank you! I look at frags that are now little colonies after a year in other's tanks and am disappointed that the growth in my tank is so painfully slow. I think a lot of it has to do with my travel schedule which leads to an unfortunate amount of parameter fluctuation

my wife takes good care of the tank, but I can only ask so much of her while I'm away.
