Mind as well replace the whole pump with a DC one so as to cut down the electricity use and be able to control the skimming level by a knob on the controller. One concern is if a replacement pump would fit, allowing secure mounting with the existing plastic screws, and aligning the hole on the body of the skimmer. Coral Box DCA pumps come with skimming impeller and 0-10V apex control. I can even control the skimming level by Apex if it fits. Anyone been thru this?

Option 1:
Buy an PSK 1000 impeller (no amazon prime so it will take a week.)
Option 2:
Buy a PSK 1000 pump for not much more $ (in case pump is dying too and I might be able to find it for faster delivery.)
Option 3:
Buy a DC skimmer pump if I can make sure it would fit.

Hoping to do 3 but need your comments.
