Not sure why, but only my purple duncan's closed up. Been that way now for 2 weeks. All other corals are extended and happy.
I've not seen my clowns mess with them at all, so I've ruled that out. Any thoughts or answers as to why only these guys are closed up tight?

Duncans are the absolute top coral where polyp behavior can't be tied to literally anything in the tank. judge what all other corals are doing to derive duncan safety/happiness. there is literally no reason they do this, mine used to do this same thing. they eventually got so big I cut them out of my pico.

the only time action is required is when tissue is pulling up from the base or stalk revealing stark white septa, that's a true attack or loss pending of some kind. closed, open, puffy/withdrawn polyps mean nothing. they're so random.

we were discussing this years ago, still holds as of today.

Agree with Brandon. Duncan’s are very temperamental and will. Lose up for no apparent reason. I think if I fart near my tank they will close up. lol. When they open up again try feeding some mysis shrimp using a mini turkey baster
