I agree 100%......I have my Radion peaking for 6 straight hours at 100% on both blues...70% white....20% on red and green and then I have my overall brightness at 70%....my stuff is doing good but I still don't see much growth and I don't have all my acros color up like I see a bunch on forums...not saying that its because of my lights though!! Although my parameters are pretty spot on every week

Thats the hard part because with leds u can do so much custom changes to them. As well as lens changes. So like he has 120deg u have i think 70-80 with the originals. My vegas r 90. I have had mine for a yr now. And I'm still reading and learning and trying to take in any info i can. With leds there r lots of diff ways to get good growth and color. And each looks so much different to our eyes.

Not sure how the programming of the radions work. So based of this what i can tell is at peak ur blues run 70% power. Because u run them at 100%. But the power to the radions only at 70%. So in theory ur blues run 70%.

Cus with the AI set up its just % each color. No turning up or down the power. 50% is 50% 100 is 100%

haha Yes.......BUT I have been confused as crap with how that works also! I have no idea and that is why I'm debating on adding some T5s because I have no idea what exactly works and doesn't work. And then when I want to make a tweak I don't know what tweak to make!! lol.....I kinda wish the radions percentage control was like the AI set up....

Here is mine now

Ok first of. Now i understand radions a lot better. Dont take this wrong. But F that. There is more then enough control i have with my AI with just one% to think of. Lol. I would have shot myself trying to figure what to set radions to. Yea urs is close to what mine is set at now with my vegas.

And second glad u sent the old pick. Lets me know that wider lens would get rid of those 2 stupid little shadow spots on my tank. Because i saw them on the old one but not the new one. Lol.

The best thing I did for my tank and my Radion configuration was borrowing a PAR meter. I now have PAR graphs for my entire tank in various different settings. I don't use the default lens (I have the wide-angles) so I can't give you comparable numbers - but you are heading in the right direction.

This is exactly what I have planned with my Radion when I start my new tank up because of all the stories about bleaching. Of course I'm planning to buy one and keep it around instead of borrowing. I have some other concerns though that are off topic I'm contemplating, but that is definitely good advice.

Lol now you feel the Radion users pain!! Hahahaha....and yeah I saw that first pic I posted and I saw the Shadows and I realized I sent the wrong one....good before and after to see what the lens actually do thougj!! I am glad I got them

Yea makes more sense. When i read and see people saying they r running 100% white and blues i always would read thinking yep... You gonna bleach yo coral. Then half no problem going good. And me going huh. How.... What.... Huh.... But now i know they r not running at 100% power.

Yea i feel for the radion pain now. As i dance under the lights of my AI and the small headache i get with tuning. Lol.

Hahahaha I'm really really debating on getting 2 t5s on the front and back side of my canopy just so I stop messing with the dang lights!!! I just don't know what color bulbs will blend with my Radions and I want it to be beneficial to my corals and look good!!!

Yea i know the feeling. Been thinking about doing a cool white with uv purple. Then just keep my whites low and not worry about that part keep my blues for growth. The uv purple to help get uv in there for color and then cool white for balance of look to my eyes. Im lucky enough that i have a 4 bulb 4ft long t5 fixture so i already put it over mine just to see how it would go. But lol the t5 look a lot brighter then the leds. And it has 1-cool white. 2-attinics. 1-purple. Used to have it over my 55 but when i was messing with the AI when i got them it got neglected so shut it down a few months ago. And moved everyone into the 210. Now i need to find a home for my trigger and my eel. They dont bother anyone in the tank now. But my trigger chased a new wrasse into my overflow a few weeks ago. And i got 5 new leopard wrasses that were swimming and eating just fine. Then gone a couple days later. I blame the eel for them... And i like my two monos ( everyone needs a couple ugly fish. Lol ) and my mated pair of bettas.... Yea ill just not get small fish. I mean mated pair!! And i got them 3 months apart from eachother. That is just amazing luck.

Hate doing pics on my phone. The blue is all that shows up. Lol.

And speaking of mates pair. I think she is about to lay..... She has been checking out caves and defending them a lot the last few days. And when she does wont let even the other betta go close. Last time this happened i found her protecting eggs a week later. Maybe this time she will put them were i can get to them so i can hatch them.

I say do it. If i was not trying to finish getting the rest of my apex i want i prob would be as well. It just makes it a lot easier. Doesnt raise the temp by that much. Only really have to run them at peak time. Ur ramp time will be done all by ur leds. Only think I'll lose is the random cloud effect i have on random. But just puts that last part in the set up and make it easier to relax about it. And i know how much i go through wondering if this setting is good enough. Let alone if i had another % to add on to it. Lol

This is what happens when i get bored. And why i dont throw old equipment away. Lol

Just leds. Whites at 40% all 3 blues 100%

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1399518101.133885.jpg

Gutted my 4ft 4 bulb t5 unit and have 2 4ft bulbs in front of my leds 1 cool white. 1 deep purple uv. Pick does not show the true amount of diff in the lights.

Just the 2 t5s on no leds.

This is not perm set up. But it will be a nice way for me to see if adding t5 to the tank will help at all. And it lets me be able to run my leds at a setting i know grows good for me as well as gives more white light.

But sorry I'll stop already hijacked this thread to much. Sorry.

Thought I'd attach my current settings I've had up for a good bit now, and with great results so far.

Still tweaking as I go, thought id get some more input!
