Ok after having my system up and running for about a year now, I decided to take it down and redo the entire system. Like most newbies I made a lot of typical mistakes with my system but those are other tales to be made, for now this thread is of my rebuild.
I tore down the tank and set up two temporary tanks to hold my livestock. One 40 gallon breeder for my fish and 20 gallon long for my corals.
My tank is a Marineland 265 gallon. My new custom sump courtesy of Marc of Melev’s Reef is an 86 gallon sump so total water volume over 300.
My aquascape is a combination of Pukani Rock and Tonga Branches. Here is a pic of how it looks so far. The branches is a done deal but I’m not sure about the other two rocks, although one looks very cool. Your thoughts??
This build will go slow as I only have weekends to work on it, I’ve been at this for well over two months so every I am posting so far has taken that much time to do. Here is my equipment list so far.
Equipment list
Custom 86 Gallon Sump
SWC Xtreme 230 Cone Protein Skimmer
Korallin Calcium Reactor 1502 Package 2

MP40w
2 Jebao Wireless RW-15 Wave Maker
4 - 1†Penductor Flow Accelerators
Pumps
Dual Reeflo Snapper/Dart Hybrids
Controller
Reefkeeper Elite w/netI am running dual snapper/dart pumps. I will be my return and the other will feed my reactors, but they will be plumbed together in case one goes down I have a backup.
The return plumbing is 1.5†all the way to the top and then reduced to 1†for the penductors. As additional flow I have my original Ecotech MP40 but I added 2 Jebao Wireless RW-15 Wave Maker.
I’ll post more as I move along but here is what I have so far.
See ya.
